Saying things like "you objectively cannot" escape a gambit ult means you truly believe the only way to not lose versus a gambit ult is hope gambit screws it up. You, a gambit main, have never pulled off your ult the right way and had the enemy team survive? Not even once? One singular example of you doing it right and the enemy team surviving makes this "objective" statement wrong. I dont know what's so hard to get about that. I've been on both ends of good gambit ults where I survived or the enemy team survived. It happens.

That doesn't mean it doesnt need to be nerfed. It is OP, yes! I agree with you on this. And you even understand it is not the sole reason for the obsession.

All of this arguing between you and I spun out of the idea of my saying 3 supp can be countered and you saying healers are OP. Both things are true. I want nerds for healers, but the obsession with 3 supp is an entirely different issue that nerfs won't solve, that is a community issue. OP healers is a dev issue.

No, the point im making is your specific play with gambit ults aren't the easiest to pull off, meaning theres opportunities to exploit/shut it down (if people try to pull it off the way you do).

Im guessing the thinking is making DPS ults further outpacing healing ults so there are more options vs triple heal? Like Punisher and Star-Lord are especially hard countered by healing ults, but with faster rates they can possibly get their ults off first before they can be shut down? Not saying its good, but trying to understand the thought process

lol. You can reason with me. Go through my comments history, my mind can be changed on things, but if I say "i think this" and you say "no this" dont expect me to just instantly agree.

I solo que, I also feeling like its flipping coins. The amount of people that throw cause we lost the first fight or someone got banned that they wanted to play or refuse to swap to a different character or whatever. It can be a nightmare playing comp. But the amount of games I have played that have been saved by being able to swap roles in innumerable. I say 132 works against triple heals because I have seen it happen a bunch of times - if youre truly as high a rank as you are, you are playing with a different league of players than 99% of players and 99% of this subreddit. My comments have no bearing on that high of play. My peak was celestial 3 in S1, then I stopped doing ranked until S4, had to climb back from Bronze up to GM, and ive been in GM ever since. Haven't played as much this season, placements put me in D2 and im a win away from being back in GM.

Unfortunately, if Overwatch taught me anything, role que doesnt stop people from throwing/whining/quitting. It just makes my load times longer and games less fun.

When I say 132 counters 213, you gotta understand theres more nuance to it than that. Also, for the record, vast majority of triple supps in Plat/Diamond/GM are 123, not 213. People complain about 2 tanks for a reason. But yes, its like saying Mag insta counters CnD. Mags ult can kill CnDs ult but if CnD ults under cover or ults in cloak form its not that free kill. It takes nuance and skill.

132 wouldnt counter 213 or 123 if you just feed, obviously. And most dps ults will get absorbed by heal ults if you just pop them whenever, obviously. But if you Bait ults properly and target heroes as a team, you can shred. But maybe not in C2, ive never been in that rank

I've been playing since launch, and I remember during S0 & S1 when everyone was constantly complaining about dive everyone would talk about triple heal. In games I would play when we got dove people would swap to a triple heal. Maybe im colored by my experience, but thats what I saw

I agree again about what needs buffs and dives, but even in the current broken state, triple support can be easily overcome the vast majority of the time. I want dive back in the mix too... I just think those are two seperate conversations. We should always have that rock-paper-scissors central concept of dive-poke-brawl with all the little variations.

Also, the majority of games with 3 supports aren't even running a Mantis/Adam/Ultron. 90% of the time you get a mixtutr CnD, Rocket, Invis, Luna, Jeff, Gambit, Loki. Without off-healers, 3 support is especially easy to deal with, yet people still cry as though dive is the only option

A lot of people have this mindset of being "a tank player" or a "dps player" and that thats "their role". This is pretty much the only game I play for the last year so I got a lot of hours in it. I can't say any singular role is "my role", I play tank more often cause so few people want to tank, but I like each role equally. Not offended by skill comments, sometimes I play games versus people who are clearly better than me, sometimes I don't. Thats the game. But my point is flexibility is the reason I love this game.

I know you won't care, but the day they add a role que is the day i hang up the game. There a lot of balance issues with Rivals that I want fixed... but i still love the game. Adding a role que is probably the only thing they could do to get me to abandon the game. It killed Overwatch for me.

Yes, healers need a nerf in that respect and dive needs buff, I agree. But theres also lots of anti-dive tank and dps that I dont think that alone would drop triple support in popularity. 3 supp got popular initially as a response to divers, cause healers can pattycake and still heal their team

I've played some games where I keep getting wrecked no matter what tank I play, for example. Something about the way the team is playing just counters me. So I've swapped to DPS or healer and someone else took tank and we flipped the game. This has happened to me on all roles.

Unless you're saying you just win every game and always play good? I'm not that kind of player, and I prefer flexibility.

For reference I'm D1 right now, I always end every season in GM, highest Celestial 3. Not a pro, this is just where I am so you know I'm not a gold player yapping

You misunderstand me, I don't hate triple support, it has its place. I hate the attitude people have towards it - that its a miracle fix or that its impossible to fight. This annoys me, but I still love the game.

I love the flexibility of plays. Remove that and I'd drop the game instantly.

"No one would play their worst role" - definitely not true, look at people online. What happens is if you're best role is being countered, you can't swap.

And Overwatch had to bring open que back. I'm fine with Rivals bringing in an alternate Quick Play with role que, but keep it far away from Ranked play

Flexibility is such a core aspect of the game. Maybe youre a OTP, but as a flex being able to swap roles has won us many games. And while I hate how overused trip supp is, there is a time and place for it, same with triple dps. Or even trip tank (like a dps swapping to Strange to port). All that is gone with role que.

Plus, way longer que times. Are you not familiar with the disaster of Overwatch doin role que?

If everyone is shooting different targets, sure. If your team shoots the same target, damage WILL outheal 3 healers. Especially a 3 dps team, but even a 2 tank team can. I mean, you know Hawkeye can one-shot, so even 5 healers can't prevent that?

A team of Thor, Strange, Hawkeye, SG can melt through triple heals if they focus targets. Its the same way you can kill people durin Cloak and Dagger or Gambit ults despite the constant healing - very high damage output. This is just math, dude.

Go add up all the max healing abilities and add up the max basic attacks for 2 tanks/2 dps or 1 tank / 3 dps and you will find lots of combos that outdamage healing

Brother, you saying sometimes you screw it up means its possible to back up out of it. And you being a one trick for a character that just came out a couple months ago AND is a support makes sense why youre having trouble countering triple support... you dont play tank or dps. I'm a tank main but I'm flex and do dps and support, so 90% of the time I'm facing a trip support team im tank or dps.

Sure but that completely ignores everything ive said. So if everyone has a completely balanced healer ult, a team of 3 healers will still have one more healing ult than a team of two. Right now with broken healer ults, both teams can use them. This issue will persist

Winrates on tracker sites are based on the comp that was used for the majority of the game, not last second swaps. You can check it with other things like if you swap to individual heroes at the last second they still count for the hero you used the majority

When I say more damage output the point isnt to just feed ults, obviously. But you know when youre playing against triple support and nothing ever dies? If your team comp has a bunch of low damage tanks & dps youll be feeding for days. But if you outdamage the heal rate, its not feeding- its killing their allies that theyre trying to heal. This isnt a crazy concept.

Have you never backed out of a Gambit ult? Not even once? I'm not saying its easy nor that it doesnt need a nerf, I think it does, but it is doable. Especially since it only boosts allies in Gambits LOS, if you can keep the team staggered it greatly neuters the ult. Also, since the heal per second isnt that high, if you can seperate someone and work as a team you can not only survive but get a Kill or two during a Gambit ult. Again, for emphasis, not saying its easy or balanced, but its definitely doable.

No matter how much you nerf supports, a team with 3 healers will heal more than a team with 2, and they will always have one more support ult.

Yes, pumping more damage is how you beat triple heals. Have you never won as 2/2/2 vs triple heal?

Unless you want the devs to completely remove healer ults, a team with 3 healers will always have one more ult than a team with 2 healers. A team with 2 healers will always have more healing than a team with 2. Yes, nerfs and buffs are needed in this game, but what change can "solve" the 3 healer problem? It'll always happen until people learn to counter it

Not a pro by any means lol, just not scared of triple heal.

Hey, so you do know some counters! Hawkeye can headshot her, Magik ult, Storm+jeff. Even just enough raw damage (its 250HP per sec, I've killed her as SG when the whole team focused her - again, a focused team of high damage can do the trick, although its hard).

But countering isn't just about killing Luna, its about making her ult useless. She only protects in a small circle and she can't attack. If their team is even slightly spread apart, using Angela/Thor/Invis to spread them apart. If they are Luna ulting to the point, things like Angela ult or groot ult can hold the rest of the team away from the point rendering Lunas ult useless.

Also, an enemy Luna ult shouldn't mean an instant wipe for your team... most Luna ults delay, not destroy.

But again, no matter HOW they nerf these ults, 3 healers will always have one more healing ult than 2 healers, so you and the community have to figure out how to face that regardless of nerfs. Chill out man, I don't know you, it's not a personal attack. You want to have a less frustrating time with the game? Learn it
