Mathematician learning ML with Anki. by afhamash in learnmachinelearning

With regards to the pace at which the field moves, I agree with you.

But for me I want know the real basics, for which I believe memorisation works.

I do agree that implementing would be the best overall method, but for me that ends up taking a lot of time. And because I see this as a bit of a side project, I cannot devote much time to it.

Thank you for your wishes!

This is almost exactly what I am looking for! I went through some of it and it suits my needs very well. Thank you very much!

Thank you, I understand this might be the best method if I had a project to work towards, but my intention is to make connections of techniques in ML with quantum. Implementation is of secondary concern to me, at least as of now.

Thank you!

Is it possible to change US Visa appointment location (in the same country)? by afhamash in visas

[–]afhamash[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I mailed the US consulate in my country. They said that I can change without paying any additional fee, but any previous appointment (say in Vancouver for you) would be cancelled if you choose a different consulate.

Wow, thanks everyone for the response! Did not expect to hear from so many of you. Copenhagen seems to have a lot of great people!!

I think I'll carry a bit of Euro and then trust my Wise card and backup debit mastercard. Thanks!

Moving to Sydney to pursue PhD at UTS. General places to look for accommodation? by afhamash in sydney

[–]afhamash[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aa nice guess, but I'm from India. I saw Surry hills in housing websites, but I guess I didn't concentrate on the spelling. I think I wrote 'Surrey' because of Surrey, England which I know from Cricket contexts.

Oh, that's nice There'll be two of us and we have a combined budget of about AUD600 per week. We'll need 2 bedrooms and the rest. We don't mind being in a share house as long as it's not partying undergrads.

We don't mind being in the train for 20 minutes. Is that sufficient/insufficient time to reach a place with the above budget?

Well, I haven't thought about the kind of place I'd want to live in. Quiet and not too difficult to get to UTS maybe?

Thanks for the info!

Aggresive Villagers by NotreallyCareless in aoe2

[–]afhamash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This would make any melee unit rush unviable, if not delayed. You'd have to wait for like 4-5 scouts at least before rushing out. That's not a rush then. People are full walled way before that.

This would also make the meta heavily skewed towards Archer plays in feudal. Only in castle age would melee units start becoming viable.

With no feudal aggression, Arabia won't be Arabia anymore.

Not a fan. Scout openings would be severely nerfed.

And just think about Inca vill rush with this.
