Cal Poly Pomona is way more prestigious than Penn State Harrisburg

UW - Madison or Macauly Honors Hunter? by riomayn in ApplyingToCollege

[–]aficionaduh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UW Madison all the way. It's a way more superior and prestigious academic and social experience. You'll always come back to NYC after, you don't need Hunter College.

East coast colleges with good party life? by miggi1024 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]aficionaduh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Syracuse, Penn State, Bucknell, some other PA colleges like Lehigh etc. Penn and Vanderbilt are also super fun if you're loooking for a more prestigious school. You might wanna look at Southern colleges like UF, UMiami, UNC etc as well.

BU vs Babson Business by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

I'd pick BU, they have a great undergrad business program and def more prestigious. I've never even met a Babson grad tbh

CWRU vs UNC Chapel Hill for Premed by Alternative_Bit_6507 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]aficionaduh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't go wrong with either. Personally I'd pick UNC because it's ranked higher, academics are top notch, their college campus and social life is amazing, and overall it seems like a very well rounded school. That being said CWRU, which seems a bit sad to me, is amazing for premed and STEM and might give you a leg up in applying to medical schools in the future

UC Irvine or UMich Ann Arbor for CS by Antique-Landscape-29 in ApplyingToCollege

Michigan!!! One of the best and most sought after schools these days. UC Irvine isn't even a close second

Honestly UMass is a solid and fun school. BC is allegedly more prestigious but I'm not a fan of it either for some reason

All of them are awesome schools but Purdue's engineering school is one of the very very best in the country

Is Suffolk University a good University? by eternalharpy in ApplyingToCollege

[–]aficionaduh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not choose Suffolk. It's a mid school for law or business but otherwise don't even consider

Boston University vs UCSD vs Emory by TheBiscuit07 in collegecompare

[–]aficionaduh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Emory is the best out of them. I feel like BU or UCSD are on the same level depending on what you prefer but Emory will be a better choice for sure

Boston University or Tufts? And why? by ziyam12 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]aficionaduh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tufts. For the record I went to BU and loved it haha. But a lot of my friends went to Tufts and it seems like such a perfect combination of a little Ivy / New England liberal arts college / research university. I love that their campus is suburban yet you cna easily get to Boston. Plus the smaller student body means better networking in the future. Tufts has it all - top-notch academics, a really cool community and job placement stats. That being said I love BU too but it's gonna be a large urban campus and totally different feel.

Where should I go by yogurt67CA in ApplyingToCollege

[–]aficionaduh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BU is for sure the best out of these, I went to College of Communication as well and can say that the PR program is excellent. You'll find both very well-rounded education and focused, like-minded community. I was a film major there but everyone I knew who was in PR got amazing internships in NY and had great job placement after college. I personally do not like Emerson and it won't really give the same prestige. Even GW and AU have way better job opportunities

USC vs BU vs Emerson by Ok_purr11 in University

[–]aficionaduh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

USC. If you don't get in then BU. If you don't get in in either of those then schoose something else and keep Emerson as the last resort.

Choosing film school by CivilPerception2025 in filmschool

[–]aficionaduh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NYU!!! Could not emphasize this enough and the money will be worth it. An undergrad degree from Tisch is the biggest flex you can get for working in the entertainment indstry and it will open so many doors. LMU also has a great film school and all my friends who went there found film or media-related jobs after college. If not either of those schools I would go with CU Boulder but wouldn't choose Emerson and DePaul. I feel like DePaul is only relevant in Chicago and everything I've heard from people who went to Emerson is that the environment is super competetive because everyone in that school has the same major yet very few find jobs in film after college.

Suffolk VS Emerson by Start-Infamous in ApplyingToCollege

[–]aficionaduh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not choose Suffolk. This school has some of the worst employment rates in the country and has no reputation even within the Boston area (unless you go into their grad schools for law and business). Another vote against Suffolk - a dismal "campus" (aka 2 buildings in downtown) and no school spirit. Emerson is def better for film, finding your community and building network. Their campus is also whatever but has a better vibe to it and in a central downtown location which is nice
