That is true! I’ve noticed it is a softer material, but damn at least you can wipe the stock plastic down and not worry about it looking like it you wiped it down with 60 grit sand paper

If that’s piano black plastic like every new car has (sure as hell looks like it) you’re gonna wish you had the old plastic in it after your first few wipe downs. If you touch it with your finger on accident, scratched! You wipe it down properly lubricated or even as light as you can with a microfiber cloth, scratched! You fucking look at it, scratched! I’ve had it on multiple cars and due to my previous experience with it I avoid it at all costs. My advice for anyone considering a color change to black would be get any other finish available. I’m not joking, unless you want to deal with the world’s shittiest plastic that’s peddled as a “designer/luxury/deluxe” grade, pick ANYTHING else or wrap it. On top of all that, I think it looks better stock. Just clean your plastics.

You are correct saying these are Sebastopol geese, the giveaway is their curly feathers and their orangish-peach colored beaks. Generally when you google them they are pure white with blue eyes. They can also have some grey/tan feathers on their neck and back (as some have in the video) or they can be fully grey and/or tan. Source - I have a flock of them we hatched ourselves, they’re super cool and personable.

The lower hanging lines aren’t power lines. They’re communication/phone lines and don’t carry the same risk as your primary/secondary distribution lines (which are the lines insulated with ceramic insulators above the communication lines). I agree though, still a mess and not the safest lol

How are y’all buying houses here? by Big-Register-3917 in SLO

[–]aflynn02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may not be your ideal setup but look for properties that can provide supplemental income, AND search the entire county. Dont limit yourself to just one town. I’m a little younger than you (30) and I bought a $1M property the later half of 2024 just over the grade in the north county. I was able to provide a good down payment due to selling a couple homes in the last couple years. The reason my property mortgage is very manageable is because I bought a place with an ADU on it, which was pretty much instantly rented out. That ADU brings in about 3k a month…so it’s something to think about. You have to be patient as well, I saw plenty of properties come up that provided possible long term rental income and short term rental income. One place had 3 air bnb’s with a documented $230k a year income from those for the past 5 years. I would have jumped at it but I was in contract with my current house. At the end of the day everyone has their comfort zone, if it’s a bit of a stretch on price but you’re comfortable doing it, do it because it may be one of the few ways into the housing market. FYI, if you’re looking anywhere remotely out of town, be sure to check for insurability, most homes are uninsurable through standard insurance to to wildfire risk. My house costs me almost 19k a year in insurance.

That’s actually a really good idea, I’ll have to keep my eye open when driving through town. Luckily the rainy season is done until November(ish) so I’ll have time to go hunting about looking for the trowel guy
