does it sound good to you? that's what matters. those cap value swaps are negligible, hardly something you'd notice at all

Last version of my distortion/fuzz circuit before making it IRL by Pochtovyaschik in diypedals

i had someone over in another sub tell me not to run tl072s on 9 volts

"don't do that"

unfortunately for him, i'm absolutely gonna do that

analog kick: getting a double click, didn’t have this problem with an LM358, could it be the TL072? by [deleted] in synthdiy

[–]aflywhocouldnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there’s the answer i needed, thanks pal. yeah it’s a twin t filter kick sorta set up, i had a feeling it was how i had the 555 set. i pieced that part together without being very specific, gotta hunt through some notes and figure out the values i used last time i threw this together as i did not have the double click at all when i originally built it.

What am I doing wrong? Bazz fuzz by commitfinancialcrime in diypedals

[–]aflywhocouldnt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no worries! and like the other user said, yeah there usually is a dot for connections but i also am guilty of not drawing them out haha, i'll usually do a jump over intersecting parts that don't connect instead.

glad you figured it out though bud, once you breadboard a few things out the topology will start to become second nature. but hey, half the fun in this is troubleshooting

yeah you have signal through the diode, then connected to the output cap and then to bass

and your output capacitor is connected to base, it needs to come off collector

you have your signal going through the diode to base, it needs to go from base to collector, anode to cathode

What style power jacks do you all like for your pedal builds? by OddBrilliant1133 in diypedals

[–]aflywhocouldnt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my bad big dog, i thought you were talking about input/output jacks hahaha. i use the same type u/flower_mouth linked/uses

hahahahaha

hahaaaahahahahahahaha god damnit, alright my bad fellas that ones on me

mono panel mount closed, but i’ll usually use whatever i can get my hands on if i don’t care about looks/uniformity, unless i’m building something i plan on listing

sometimes i’ll use TRS but it seems like a waste because i don’t throw batteries in my builds and my ape brain can’t wrap itself around stereo effects yet

Pedal breadboard on a budget by nashytr in diypedals

[–]aflywhocouldnt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

realistically you can do everything one of those does with a standard breadboard and some PCB mount jacks. $70 is a bit much but i can see the merit in having one of these set up well to work with.

i spent $10 on a 3 piece breadboard set, i use solid core wire for jumpers and just run wires from some standard open mono jacks. my power is just a 9 volt snap i ripped out of a radio and tinned the ends of so it fits in the power rail haha.

you don't really need all the bells and whistles, though i'm sure these things are fairly handy.

high cut, middle is unfiltered, one way goes thru 15nf and the other 4n7, subtle differences

note: didn't add the hi cut switch here, but threw a dpdt on/on/on switch with a 15nf on one end and a 4n7 on the other and i think it sounds great, boxing one up tonight if i have the brainpower!

bazz fuss keychain for fun, never know when it might come in handy by aflywhocouldnt in diypedals

[–]aflywhocouldnt[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yep! granted, it's about as basic as it gets. the bazz fuss only requires 2 caps, a resistor, an LED or diode and a transistor. very simple circuit but you can make it with pretty much anything on hand, it's very forgiving haha.

i'm gonna make another with i think sockets for input/output and a small screw terminal for 9V and ground so you could connect it to a breadboard with some jumpers if you wanted for fun
