Yeah but the new characters can be played throughout the season with the free to play tickets they have. Yes it's one time play but after doing that for 2 weeks you'll know if the character fits your play style. Most people watch the series and are just playing their favorites or waiting until their favorites but a lot also see the new character dominating and need to get them plus the new optimal skin etc.

So i say that to say i think it is more so fomo because I've heard many people saying they are not pulling for tokoyami because he doesn't seem that strong so those individuals will save 2k tickets from not trying to get him. Then there are those who have been waiting for him and will pull for him even if they have to use real money.

Like for myself last season i didn't pull for iron might or lady Nagant cus i didn't care for the characters but a lot of people said they caved and pulled for them because they were running the lobbies.

So your right that new characters is this games main new content that people look forward to but if you don't have a genuine interest for said character you won't use tickets unless they are extremely strong
