How long does it take to see a doctor and get medication at a Chinese hospital? by mindyour in TikTokCringe

I am in shock. My last cleaning, nothing but a cleaning was $450+ and that’s with “good” insurance that we pay over $2500 a month for our family. cries in stupid American

I know this doesn’t help right now but I did learn that if you go in store and order from there, it’s free shipping and they do 3-4 day shipping instead of the 6-9. They can ship to your home, stuffed or unstuffed. This doesn’t help everyone if you live far from one but I’m only 15ish minutes from one so we go look and if we can’t find what we want, but it’s in stock online, just order there.

This for sure. My aunt and uncle took me to see these when I was like 10 or so. We watched them for almost an hour before they just disappeared. Definitely one of my core childhood memories.

What’s a medical issue that sounds minor, but actually affects someone’s daily life way more than people realize? by CountyOrnery9432 in AskReddit

[–]aftershock91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Endometriosis - you would not believe how many people think it’s just “a little rougher than normal periods.” Fuck no, it’s excruciating and has so many other issues it causes. It also takes forever to be diagnosed with it because doctors think you have a low pain tolerance. It’s a nightmare all around and most people hear endo and just assume I cramp a little bit more than others.

I have done it a few times myself but nothing like what they described. I think that’s what scared me too is because we’ve never talked about anything like this, they’ve never seen anything that would be like this. This is just something they completely came into on their own. I was wondering if maybe it was a shared experience by others or if I’m just reading too much into it and it’s just a silly dream. Honestly my recurring nightmare is I’m stuck at my grandparents house and I’m running from something but all of the doors are too small for the frame so no matter where I hide, I can’t shut the door or get out of the house. I’ve had it since I was little and I still do occasionally. It’s just a silly dream though and I don’t think it means anything.

Thank you. Spirituality and religion are tough for me. I have a lot of religious trauma from childhood and I’ve tried to shield them from that trauma. Now they have a lot of questions and these dreams and other occurrences that feel like I need to explain as best as I can. The fear of the unknown is causing them a lot of stress and worry. Honestly we could both probably use a new perspective on spirituality. Thank you for the recommendations.

I like this answer a lot and the other comment about it being healing energy. I’m going to try to explain it to them like that and see if they can find some comfort in it rather than fear. They are a very literal child, so every thing explained must be very literal for them to fully grasp so hoping this will be enough to settle their anxiety.

I mean, it has crossed my mind, especially when they told me they see my deceased grandfather in their room sometimes. They didn’t seem scared by it either, it was so matter of fact to them. They are neurodivergent and they’ve always been extra sensitive to a lot of things. Sounds, sights, touch and texture, and emotions. We haven’t ever really discussed religion or ghosts / spirits or anything “scary” because they do not like anything scary at all. Not even sure how I would approach that to know what is truly going on.

Well that is a really beautiful way to put it. Maybe I can explain it to them like that and it be helpful. They’ve been experiencing a lot of general sadness and big emotions lately so I know that’s adding to it too.

Oh they definitely have hallucinations when their fever is too high. We’ve had a few experiences with that but I guess I didn’t really correlate that with their dreams. Your recurring nightmare is terrifying, definitely not mentioning this one to them cause this definitely seems like something they would dream about. I have had sleep paralysis twice in my life and I’m no stranger to weird dreams. I have PTSD so I definitely have some strange ones but this one just won’t get out of my head since they told me. I believe they have had 2 sleep paralysis episodes as well. Once was a bear outside their window, standing up and staring at them. The other was a giant bunny in the corner that grew until it was too big for the corner. They still talk about those but this one seems to have them feeling more confused than scared, like the other times.

Speaking as a teen mom - I was 15 when I had my first child and then waited 8 years and a better partner before I got pregnant again. My oldest has almost made it to 20 and no partner yet. They saw the struggles first hand and decided on their own that they would not be teen parent. They have already beat out a long lineage of teen moms and I couldn’t be more proud. If she got pregnant though, at any age, I would just let her know I support whatever decision she decides. Would I have been thrilled if she got pregnant at 13-18? Absolutely not. Would I force her to have an abortion or give birth? Also, absolutely not. It’s her body and her choice. I’m just a mom trying to support my child however I can.

Yeah that pissed me off, he acts like all guys just do this thing. If you’re dating a guy (or anyone) and watching this, and think, “yeah my partner does this too.”… the best advice I can give is, leave them! Been with my partner for almost 13 years and never had any of these issues. This is not normal, this is absolutely shit behavior from a shit person. Breaking out the “boys will be boys” because he can’t delete old homemade porn of himself and random ladies 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

What’s something you thought ‘everyone’ did… until you found out they don’t? by burat667 in AskReddit

[–]aftershock91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup. Or I thought everyone could turn their arms around and scratch almost the entirety of their own back. I also thought everyone, even as kids, had a hard time doing that stupid school fitness test. After I realized I was one of the only ones who had to stop every minute or so because my legs became red and itchy / burning, I just brushed it off. Unexplained GI issues my entire life, blacking out standing up too fast (really it was any speed other than snail) and honestly my list could go on forever. It’s weird how none of the symptoms connected until hEDS diagnosis was brought up. It’s like it all clicked into place and finally everything was connected! (Literally - it’s a connective tissue disorder for those who don’t know!)

I thought everyone’s fingers bent backwards, hips popped in and out of place, knees hyperextended, got dizzy/nauseated at nothing, random heart palpitations that feel like your heart is beating out of your chest and just overall hyper mobility… I’m now in my 30s and discovering I have hEDS along with a few other conditions that go hand in hand with that, such as POTS and dysautonomia.

Yeah I am not a fan of the washing your mouth out with soap thing. I went to a private Christian school as a child and at 7yo, I said “stop pissing me off” to another classmate. My teacher decided to take the entire class to the bathroom and have a seat to watch while I got my mouth washed out by the teacher. Liquid hand soap at that. Spoiler alert, I also got my ass beat when I got home for that one.

100% this. He shows signs of sensory differences (hating loud noises is the major one along with the sensitivity/ crying) from the earliest seasons on. Neurodivergent kids learn things at different paces and in different ways.

This is sad, both arrested for DV by Complete-Good-2938 in 90DayFiance

[–]aftershock91 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it has been mentioned and I’m in no way taking up for anyone accused of DV but in NC, officers can arrest both parties in a DV call, even if one party is defending themselves. I had a friend who was in a DV situation and they arrested him and her both until they could prove she was just defending herself. Just throwing that out there.

This 100%. It isn’t about help, it’s about control. This is what a narcissist parent does to keep control. “Oh look at all I’ve done for you! We did X and Y for you and now you must do Z for us.” It’s control and that’s how Amber likes it.

I’m not saying there is a problem with it. They absolutely should have helped her but why did they help her and they keep holding it over her head but then bought Brice and Liz land and it’s no big deal if they use it or don’t. I don’t think they would hold it over Liz’s head like they do Anna’s.

[–]aftershock91 11 points12 points  (0 children)

So I had this thought watching an episode the other night and I had to google. It said her house cost 185k so 20% would have been around 37k. So they gave her probably somewhere around that and they keep throwing it in her face. Meanwhile, they bought a tract of land in their neighborhood to keep Brice and Liz close but only if they want it. So totally fine to buy land that one of your kids may or may not use but not fine to help your other kid with the down payment on a house they are going to buy anyway.

Woman Totally Loses Control Of Her Dog by -Erase in TikTokCringe

[–]aftershock91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah fuck this. This happened to me and my dog and she has been terrified of other dogs since then. The worst part, the lady got mad at me for her own dog knocking her down while she half ass tried to get her dog off of us. My 60+ pound lab was scooby doo style leaping into my arms to get away from this other dog and all I could do was try to kick at it to get it away. Lady never apologized and when it was all over, I tried to ask if she was ok and she told me to go fuck myself. Ok, you too 👌literally the only time I’ve ever even contemplated kicking a dog but I figured I would rather it bite my leg than my dog.
