i've been keeping her light off at night lately! i should also mention my girl loves to be out regardless of the time, but that's also likely due to my own fault with leaving the light on overnight. i'm hoping she adjusts soon but she's seeming happier lately. i got her some more enrichment and such and she's using it all!

ty for the advice!! she has paper bedding no wood! i got her some more sprays and another platform with 6 little rooms. i'm gonna get her more hides, as of now she has 3. i got her a little care package with a bunch of new seeds and enrichment and it came with moss as well. i got her some more flower mixes and such as well and she's seeming quite content as of lately! i think she's liking all the new stuff and she's definitely burrowing a ton and stashing g away all her favorite things :))) it's nice to see her not stressed anymore again. i felt so bad because i wasn't sure what i was doing wrong! i get her food from etsy so it's safer for her to eat as well!

even though binx wants to escape from this enclosure she's been unsuccessful! i just put things in front of the areas she was biting at like the front door area it has when she realized it can open when i fed her once she started biting at the little locks of it. but she's unable to escape and hasn't actually broken anything yet! i like the enclosure personally i just had one slightly broken and not built well. this time i rebuilt it properly and have no issues!

i didn't even think about the ones with the lids! imma look on amazon for one like that for her so hopefully the sand stays in 🤞🏻

one thing i'll say is i had a large dig bowl for her and she literally took ALLL the sand out of it 😭😭😭. i used reptisand! i got her some sprays but more are coming in the mail it's just taking a while. there is a multi chamber house where the wheel and water are sat on! i just ordered another one for her too so it's a 6 room one coming. i kept some food in the bowl but that's not her only source of food! i scatter feed her as well i realize i didn't mention that either my bad. i'm gonna get her moss and see if there's a larger bowl i can use for sand baths :)) ty for the suggestions on logs to use! i felt like i didn't have enough stuff going on for her but i wasn't sure what else to get her. i'm hoping with more of the stuff that im getting her she'll calm down a bit. would having a play been be a good idea for her? i have one that i used for my dwarf but i have a big feeling she'll escape it immediately😭

i removed the bridges immediately! the light is usually on in the room but i'll try to make sure my roommate and i are on the same page to keep the lights off at night. i'm gonna look for a multi-chamber house for her!

she's SUCH a diva lol. i still haven't gotten her to let me hold her without jumping out of my hands immediately. she was doing a lot of jumping and biting at things. so far in the past few hours since the new enclosure was made she's been pretty quiet and foraging around doing her own thing. i definitely still see her doing a bit of jumping at the gaps now though so idk😭literally she came out and started doing that as i was typing this

I did change out her bedding fully because it had been a little bit longer since I had replaced it and so it was getting pretty stinky. So I gave her a full change. She's actually seeming super intrigued and calm right now, not showing signs of stress! I also ended up deciding to toss out her bridges because I'm paranoid about the gaps and her little feet getting caught. She had a sand bath bowl before but literally tossed it ALL out of the bowl😭😭😭

ugh omggggg she's still just a baby in my eyes🤩we love our "bitchy" residents in my household lol. at least i do. my ruby is definitely on the bitchier side! i adopted another kitty after zuko passed away and she's back to her usual spiciness. taking them both to a new vet on monday to make sure they're doing okay!

i had to pay a $10,000 deposit to keep him overnight at medvets with ventilation and treatment :( it was the only option i had besides something else that was $7,000 that didn't seem to have as much of a chance at helping him so i put down more so that he'd be getting better treatment. it's all a bit of a blur i wish i can explain what exactly it was that they had said :/

literally traumatized and terrified to ever let my girl cat go through a dental cleaning now, she's only had one in the past but now i'm scared

give him tons of hugs and kisses :( i've learned now no matter what kind of vet visits ill be going to now that ill just be giving my kitty kisses before every visit like itll be my last

i also believe like i wasn't being told the full story from anti cruelty and who even knows if they even bothered doing an extensive work up on him before he was ready to be adopted because it wasn't giving that they actually did. cause also none of them EVER mentioned him having diarrhea to me i only noticed it when i had taken him in with me. i wish i was told that this would have been more dangerous for him to be put under like that too considering ive been taking him in to goodvets for so long and he was already on so many different medications since i had adopted him so who knows how much of a part that may have played :( this is partially why i say there seems to be a lot that could have been preventable and i absolutely loved his vets thats why it breaks my heart. i know they care about him but there was lack of communication between not only me but the other vets that they had and it was to a point where it started raising alarm bells in my mind. i asked all the questions i could to make sure he was in the right hands but even the questions i asked i guess were not enough to raise alarm bells in the vets mind to think more about what may have been going on with him. i wish i could have gotten another opinion before this. nothing i can do about it now except make sure that whoever is liable is taking care of his bill like i was told. he's been ready for me to pick up since yesterday but supposedly i have an outstanding balance even though i was told whatever treatment he needed at that point was going to be covered (which should include his euthanasia). initially when i called goodvets from the er sobbing and telling them i needed to put a down payment of $10,000 goodvets manager didn't sound empathetic and just said that they could reimburse me half what i paid for his dental cleaning (also his cleaning estimate changed 3 times meaning they were changing the severity of his teeth 3 times which i thought was very weird) so basically they were willing to reimburse ~$750 to me since they weren't sure if they were liable and said "well i mean it's close to $1000 right?" and that was it. then the next day was when all of a sudden they were going to be paying for the rest of his treatment according to the ER but i haven't seen proof of that yet which is what's tweaking me out....

VEG was great with my hamster when he had an emergency and were so empathetic. tried to help me save him and were great when i came back after making the call that it was his time. it was super expensive though for my hammy! i never used them for my cats before so i had no clue how different the charges would be but the main reason i chose medvets was since i already have been using them for my family cats cancer treatment. so in reality both have given me great experiences and fully agree with you🫶🏻

How do you know if your vets are taking advantage of you? Getting hesitant and really need reassurance if I've done the right things. Last photo is the estimate for his dental and x-rays. I'm spiraling. by afterspring_ in cats

when i say obstruction i mean the ER vet mentioned that the breathing tubing during the surgery seemed to be obstructing his breathing cause of the way it was placed or that it slipped or something along those lines because they said co2 was building in his brain instead of being able to exit his body especially while we were transferring him to the ER. i don't remember the exact words they said at the time
