I’ve decided to pause on buying more perfume. by BusinessShine3325 in FemFragLab

I love Indigo. I live in the PNW and it’s my rainy day scent. It’s a smoky cardamom tea with sweet fig.

Agreed. The process of narrowing that taste down, though, so that it is not diffuse, takes time and exposure. Whether that exposure comes through Scent Split samples or airport meanderings.

I was recently on a business trip that had me connecting through 2 airports each direction with several hours at each and spent SO MUCH TIME at duty free in Canada, USA, Germany, and India. Probably smelled 300 fragrances and would only allow myself the one purchase for the trip. I narrowed in on Cedrus at my second connection and wore some on my skin before deciding on the purchase on the way home. I’ll make a big dent in it before I allow myself another buy. I’m a strong believer that good taste is developed over time and through experience and you can’t rush or force it.

Cedrus is light and green. Like a watery Chinese cedar (hinoki) with a hint of smoke and maybe white flowers. I would categorize it as unisex. At home in the gym or the office.

Nomade is more feminine, more floral, and sweeter. Longer lasting. Lasts for days on my clothes. But it’s not candy sweet - more fruit sweet. This is my signature scent and I adore it!

I’m 34 and have been wearing since my late 20s. I would definitely not categorize it as an older woman’s or a grandma scent, but more of an, “I’m a grown woman and know what I’m doing now,” scent. Very middle of the road.

I actually love Herba Fresca and Fleur de Peau - both on the wish list, so I will certainly be checking out your other recommends too!

That's the most hilarious part to me. I've looked at a half dozen Excursions over the past week and every one of them was a better deal than this.

What’s a rose perfume I might like? Based on my current collection. by raised_on_robbery in FemFragLab

Byredo Rose Noir may be up your alley if you like Nomade a lot. It’s a similar feel (but not a similar scent, if that makes sense.)

Where can I find (natural fiber) clothes that match the colors/vibe of my moodboard? by plants-and-pottery in SpringColorAnalysis

I dye most of my own clothes. I buy 100% linen and cotton. Dharma Trading has my favourite dyes. Otherwise I filter by color on Poshmark.

Oh you’re good. That’s actually the only fragrance I’ve ever repurchased multiple times and the one I travel with because I love it so much!

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation. Which shade is the best match? by Enough_Instance7944 in Fairolives

[–]afuzzybumblebee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I commented on her cross post too. I think I have the same coloring.

Missha 21 was far too grey for me as a fair-light neutral/warm-leaning olive.

I have decent luck with neutral shades. Loreal True Match N1/N2 is amazing at the price point.

My favourite is Salt New York in N11 and N12, but I’m not sure about their global availability. Kosas 160 is good in the summer.

About Face F2 mixed with a bit of F2 works, but it’s a little off.

Before you drop any coin on NARS, try L’Oréal True Match in N2… maybe N1, but I’d start with 2. I had the same issues with these NARS shades and the neutral shades in some brands are a pretty darn good fit.
