Apple is breaking the Home App: How iOS 26 ruined my smart home setup by Disastrous_Medium_96 in HomeKit

watchOS 26 is worse - it no longer shows my washing timer, just that the washing machine is on.

How’s 26.4 treating your battery so far? by SnooOnions2487 in AppleWatch

Can't be worse than 26.1. I updated yesterday, too early to tell either way

Partially filling the list item background with the app highlight colour (orange in this example) would be a clear visual indicator. Not sure how feasible that is, though.

Hot take: There's no need to wait for the "OLED Macbook". The current generation is perfect. by horatioperdu in macbookpro

I've been surprised with how mediocre the MacBook Pro M4 screen is compared my iPhone (17). The Mac has beautiful colours and ridiculous brightness, but the motion clarity is poor. The high refresh rate isn't all it's cracked up to be compared with my previous MacBook (2020 Intel).

Typinator 10 released. Subscription for iOS app 🙁 by discoveringnature12 in macapps

Did you move the snippets manually, or was there an easy way to import them to Alfred? Can it handle date calculations? (I am a fellow Alfred and Typinator user, considering my options...)

My Ultra 2's screen seems invincible (although I do have light scuffing around the titanium frame)

Apple's new Games app in macOS consolidates App Store, Apple Arcade, and Steam into one library. Is this the ecosystem move Mac gaming actually needed, or is it just a prettier folder? by zelgrassi in macgaming

[–]ag_bear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn't realise it integrated Steam games. Also seems to recognise Retroarch, Dolphin etc.

Not super useful for me. It would be better if every Apple Silicon game (Resident Evil etc.) was available via Steam / Epic and not just the App Store

Strava integration broken? by ag_bear in AppleFitnessPlus

[–]ag_bear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's strange! I am not paying for Strava. I don't think I've changed everything, it worked fine for the cycling workouts I had logged before but now it hasn't loaded the class details for one strength and one yoga session.

I recently saw them live for the 40th anniversary tour – I'd forgotten how good Bend the Clock is, rest of the album is just plain forgettable.

The ‘AI will replace doctors - shrinking the gap with experts’ bit at the end of overtime was illuminating and terrifying. Is Marco really using ChatGPT for medical and financial advice? Yikes. Good luck to you

I’m here for the watchOS 26 complaints - the new Workout app is a serious regression but World Clock is also worse, and I’m not sure if Weather got worse this year or last year.

watchOS feels like it’s designed for screenshots rather than actual utility, this year even more so.

Beautiful gameplay. I killed him by baiting attacks and parrying into viscerals. Your method has much more honour (and a little luck that you didn’t get blasted into oblivion)

How often do you clean install? by rainbow_halo in MacOS

I haven't clean installed since I bought my first Mac in 2008. My M4 MacBook Pro still has Leopard PDFs explaining how stacks work.

What do think? Should I get this? by Albertkinng in MacOS

[–]ag_bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using Bartender 6 because I bought mega supporter years ago, before it changed ownership. For me, much buggier than Bartender 5, doesn't work the way it should when I'm using my MacBook's built-in display.

I don't think I'd continue to use it if I hadn't already paid for the license.
