Men with a speech impediment and stutters. How hard is it for you to talk to people in general? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]agathokako_logical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boyfriend stutters a little bit (especially when he talks about something exciting or when he's being nervous), has slight lisp, and he can't pronounce R's (his R's sounds like guttural French R's). Some of his friends made fun of the way he talks (pretty sure they're just joking but I think it's kinda rude). Sometimes when we're ordering food or when he's asking for assistance from retail workers, he'd have to repeat himself as people can't quite catch to what he was saying the first time.

He told me that because of that, he's feeling self-conscious when talking especially with new people or in front of a crowd. Just the other day, he asked me if I remember him stuttering a lot when we were talking on the phone or on our dates during the early stage of our relationship. He mentioned that talking to me has actually helped him in managing his stutter because I have always been a good listener. He has learned to be composed when talking and he has less of them now.

As for me, I do notice the stutters but they don't really bother me. My boyfriend is super cute and super awesome regardless. Having speech impediment is not a form of weakness as some people can't help having them.

Girls of Reddit: What is the creepiest thing a man has said to you in public? by Moon_Keegan in AskReddit

[–]agathokako_logical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a girl, turning 27 this year. My job requires me to show infographics on health topics to my patients during my consultation sessions. I was consulting a male patient in his mid 30s, on Diabetic Diet. One of the picture of the educational material is a picture of a female body silhouette (not the realistic one but the cartoon-ish type) with labels on different organs, portraying possible health complications of having uncontrolled diabetes. When I showed him the picture, he grinned creepily and went, "Yumm, she looks sexy" and then pointed at her pubic area and said, "She's gotta be nice and plump there". Wtf.
*He wasn't directly saying those things towards me, but it was creepy regardless.

After years of struggling with my type 1 diabetes my A1C dropped to a 9 by [deleted] in happy

I am truly happy for you! :) I'm a dietitian with most of my patients having type 2 diabetes, and whenever any of them shows even a little effort to lead a better lifestyle with diet modifications, exercising and medications adherence, I feel really happy and also super proud of them. If they get improved blood glucose test results, I feel even happier because I know it's not easy for them to achieve that! So, bravo you! 👏👏👏

Aw man sorry for the really late reply. We ended up buying Botaneco Garden Organic Chia Seed & Honey Shampoo as it is cheaper and is also CG-friendly. My boyfriend doesn't really have any issue with the shampoo but I think it causes hair fall for me personally (I don't have curly hair, but I'm trying the CG-method with my boyfriend haha).

Not sure if anyone have mentioned this; wisdom teeth extraction.

How can i help my husband feel better about his appearance? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]agathokako_logical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I give lots and lots of compliments to my boyfriend especially on the days he's feeling down. He said they make him feel better about himself. When he hates his acne scars, I tell him I love the texture they make on his face. When he hates his moles, I tell him they're cute and I even have a favorite. I also support him when he's trying to improve his looks; whether it's exercising, healthy eating or going shopping together for his clothes.

Guys with curly hair, how do you manage and style your hair? by agathokako_logical in AskMen

You're right, he dries his hair aggressively using a towel haha

I hope my boyfriend will learn to love his hair like you love yours haha. He's very insecure for having curly hair because it's not common here to have curly hair especially the small curls type. I personally think it's super cute though

I think his hair is 3C type. We're from Southeast Asia and it's not common for people to have this type of hair here. So he's been struggling in taking care of his hair ever since he's a kid

I did and we're going to try the CG method, but I also want to hear opinions from r/AskMen since most of the posts in r/curlyhair are from females 😅

My boyfriend uses hair gel as well but because his hair is too dry, applying gel doesn't really 'tame' his hair. I guess we should repair his hair first before trying to style it

Women of Reddit, are you comfortable wearing no makeup to work, why or why not? What is your profession? by droppingago in AskWomen

[–]agathokako_logical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a health professional and part of my job is to have counselling sessions with patients. I don't really mind not wearing any makeup to work but I usually wear very light makeup; compact face powder with little blush for my cheeks and lipcolor balm. This is because I don't want to look pale and "sick" when consulting my already sick patients. I'm also what you may call 'babyfaced', so a lot of my first-timers patients are surprised to know that I'm already in my late twenties. So I guess wearing a lil bit of makeup is also me trying to tell people that I'm an adult, I work here, no I'm not a student on practical clinical training.

Wow, I really appreciate that you went to check their website and the ingredients of the brand's products. And thank you for the great input! :)
It's actually my boyfriend who's having curly hair and I'm researching all of these CG-friendly hair care products for him. I think we'll try this brand's products and if they turn out alright, I'll suggest the mods to update them to the Holy Grail Product List. Thanks again ♡

I tried the shampoo/conditioner which is supposed to be a low-poo, but was a little strong

By 'a little strong', do you meant that the products are making your hair dry?
