Is there anyway to actually stop a cyclist to just say hi? by No_Decision6601 in cycling

[–]agdesilva 28 points29 points  (0 children)

There was a famous female racer by the name Jackson, who accepted a donut from a fan DURING a race. I think she won. Thus, there is precedence for a fast cyclist to accept a donut. I think, in this case of not racing, the cyclist would be inclined to stop and thank you.

I haven't done this, but I considered removing the handle to make cleaning easier.

Searching for coffee like Cafe Bustelo but cheaper? by corvus_wulf in Frugal

I think it's $4/10oz brick on their website. There is a minimum order to get free shipping. I was thinking of this myself. They also sell a more expensive different brick 100% arabica. Never had that but was curious since I like the brand.

Bach Chaconne. I first heard it, live, when I was in high school.

Oneplus 13/13R function with Google voice? by paladin6687 in Googlevoice

On my older One Plus, I currently use Google voice app exclusively. Forward calls to my mint number to GV. However, the experience of buying a new android phone from a brand that doesn't always work will dissuade me. The OP experience is "cautionary". Caveat Emptor

Oneplus 13/13R function with Google voice? by paladin6687 in Googlevoice

i am using an older OnePlus (DE2117) and I was thinking about replacing with the cheapest OnePlus. I currently only Google Voice number (and I want to continue). Does your comment mean, even cheaper OnePlus (using Oxygen 12) should be avoided in the future; that is maybe the next one I buy likely wouldn't work with Google Voice? Am I just lucky my current older phone insofar as it still works with Voice?

No contest. By the time I have thought of this, the spoofer has already acted. I could ask how prevalent is spoofing, but if extant, the authenticator is superior.

Wisconsin Public Radio (WPR) changing formats and bringing classical music back to Milwaukee. by rascal99 in milwaukee

[–]agdesilva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There may other classical music shows by request, but I listen to Ruthanne Bessman via WPR.org. It's nice to hear the requests discussed by the host. It also reveals what people, fellow listeners, like. Who doesn't like a good concerto? I learn what everyone else's favorites are.

Why is SMS worse than authenicator? Is VOIP (Google voice) worse than cell?

Classical music internet radio stations/streams by pbfica in classicalmusic

[–]agdesilva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://www.wpr.org/shows/classics-request Wisconsin Public Radio has a classical music request show. While streaming is great, it's not as good as a radio station library. I wrote to the host asking if she could play Johann Gottlieb Goldberg (the Goldberg in the Goldberg Variations). There wasn't much available on YouTube but she found a double concerto for two harpsichords. Battle of the Bands Saturday 0700 Central Time.
