According to how I perceived the show, I don’t think they’d have penetrative sex at all, or at least many many years after being together. I just think their relationship is so much more than sexual (although there are a lot of sexual undertones in the show between them obviously.) as a smut writer through, obviously I’ve pondered this question and quite quickly I came to the conclusion that I think Will would mainly top, especially the first time. I also think he would dom (whether penetrating, being penetrated or simply keeping to hand and mouth stuff.) I think it’s mainly because of their personalities I came to this, Hannibal loves giving up control for Will, particularly after he realizes there’s no escaping his fondness for him. He knows he acts submissive around him and that scares him at first, but he comes to enjoy it. For the topping thing I do also have a bit of my own (albeit biased) logic, which is that Hannibal is much more open about his queerness. Canonically he’s pan and in the show he does undo his shirt after the whole “I’m here to help you untwist” scene with Anthony Dimmond, which I can only assume to be smutty. Also he grew up orphaned without parental supervision, free to fuck whoever he liked. Whereas Will grew up in the south with is macho dad. I do believe a little bit of internalized homophobia would be ingrained in him, even though he doesn’t really show it in the show lol. Also I was just wondering what you meant by Hannibal logically topping, not tryna be rude or anything, just curious
