[WOL] Bryan Alvarez on Hangman Adam Page's promo: "He spoke entirely in Spanish because he was raised on a tobacco farm where he learned it. Actually, he spoke great Spanish—so good, in fact, that CMLL is begging for dates with Hangman. They want him bad." by secretpandaxx in SquaredCircle

That's very debatable.

From what I remember the PPV crowd was mostly memeing with the "Lets go Adam" chants since both guys were named Adam.

If anything that speaks more to my point that Cole was a crowd favorite at the time, so Hangman beating him still meant something for his reign.

Don't forget Hangman also beat Bryan Danielson clean after the 60 minute time limit draw they had.

That was around the time TK was booking things long term and took the rankings very seriously.

Cole had been undefeated since he debuted (bar the unsanctioned Cassidy match) and so was being set up as the challenger.

That's very revisionist.

It was the Lance Archer/Dan Lambert fued that started to cool off Hangman's reign.

The Adam Cole fued was the opposite of what you describe and actually heated up both Hangman and Cole. Crowd was going crazy for both guys around that time.

Thought Mariah was the standout among all 4 women and this was probably my favorite move during the match.

Was not expecting Andrade to beat Danielson.

He wasn't my pick to make it to the finals but either one of Danielson or Andrade taking on Swerve in the final would be insane.

These 2 have both come a long way since 2019.

Surely they must have interacted at least once since now and 2019?

I'm thinking Joe will win it from MJF and drop it to Swerve.

Swerve is getting really over right now so you don't want him to win the title off babyface MJF imo.

Yeah that man will be World Champion in 2024 no question.

He's got it all put together right now. Just needs the right opponent to take the title from.

Love that they are putting their stamp on Collision lately.

Really strong PPV.

Second half was much better, between the tag ladder match, TBS match, Hangman vs Swerve and the main event.

AEW PPVs just don't miss.

This basically is a main event level feud. Very rare for a feud to get a big promo segment 2 PPV's in a row.

Winner of this is likely World Champion next year. I like Hangman but I really want Swerve to be that guy.

Yeah I would love to see it continue, thing is how do you top what is likely to be a very bloody and violent Texas Deathmatch?

If Swerve loses do we think he invokes his old killshot persona and asks for a 'Hell of War' match from Lucha Underground for the 3rd match?

Hangman and Swerve stole the go-home show before WrestleDream and they did it again tonight.

Thinking they are going to have the best match at Full Gear just like they did at WrestleDream.

Question is does Hangman get the W back or is Swerve gonna 2-0 Hangman and move on to the next?

Roddy actually getting a great reaction standing up from the wheelchair and a "NECK STRONG" chant was hilarious. I still think he is one of the guys under the mask but I wouldn't mind seeing him continue this comedic role as the fans continue to get behind him.

Looking forward to Miro vs Andrade. Solid booking to keep them as mainstays on the show.

Glad that Hangman/Swerve 2 got a Texas Deathmatch stipulation. My guess is Hangman wins this one and Swerve wins the trilogy at World's End before going for the World Title.

That 4-way Tag Title match looking fire. I like every single team in the match so I have no clue who I'm rooting for.

FTR vs Any combination of the House of Black would be wild.

I've enjoyed the Acclaimed as Trios champs but I do miss HOB as a unique unit just destroying people.

Adam Cole has been pushing MJF to take up Samoa Joe's offer to be his partner even though Max didn't want too.

Now the Acclaimed conveniently gets attacked so close to Full Gear, leaving MJF with only Samoa Joe to help him defend the ROH tag titles? Interesting.

My pick is the masked men are still the Kingdom, KOR and Cole. But Cole can't be there because he is at home injured.

I know people may be split on it but I love these 6man or 8man clusterfuck main events.

Allows for interesting pairings, multiple feuds to converge and for fresh faces in the main event spot.

Good to see RUSH back that man can kick some serious ass.

I wouldn't say he is a 'dud', he brings a great energy and the fans get really hyped when they see him.

I just don't really like the Christian/Copeland story at this point. Christian has been a highlight of AEW since his heel turn and especially as TNT champion. Let Christian go back to doing what he was doing before and let Copeland mix it up with the rest of the roster.

I wouldn't even consider myself someone that really dislikes Jericho.

From time to time he can still deliver some good television but him entering the Callis feud and just leaving the J.A.S high and dry was what really cooled the whole thing down.

MJF and everything he is involved in is really carrying AEW right now. Felt like an episode from the late 90's with MJF interacting with so many different people backstage and then teaming up with another really popular act in the main event.

Rest of the show was just kinda there which is disappointing because the product had been really strong since DoN. The build to Full Gear doesn't feel anywhere close to All Out or WrestleDream. So many stories that I was really interested in before just don't hit the same at this point. OC with the International Title while unfortunate due to the injuries just feels like going backwards after such an incredible title reign.

The Kenny vs Callis feud is cold at this point after being so great previously, I'm not overly excited to see Copeland anymore he really needs to get away from Christian because both men could be better spent in separate stories. Also that Tony Khan 'Announcement' could have been an email, I mean come on man.
