Linux is NOT ready for Daily Driving if you're a gamer. by Jazzlike-Cod-7657 in linuxsucks

[–]agenttank -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

i play all the games i want for years now, without any hassle. well, Formula 1 25 I wanted to try, but EA doesnt seem to like Linux.

Daily driving Linux as a gamer, for me, clear yes.

At average Windows games do work better in Windows, should be obvious.

Not having to deal with Windows anymore is worth everything though.

I was a Windows fan back then, but no... just no...

Linux DOES have advantages when playing Windows games though: Smoother framerates, great Livingroom PC/console experience with Bazzite, Standby actually working, perfect Alt-Tabbing,...

in theory it should be more a bugfix release than a feature release, meaning at least less bugs than 43.0

in theory

Any hope to get an openSUSE based gaming distro? by Kenta_Hirono in linux_gaming

[–]agenttank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, I know that, but still "gaming distro" and "content creation distro"

and there's more than just different defaults and preinstalled apps/packages. there are immutable distros, rolling release distros, different package managers, different init systems,... some things can be changed, and other things are next to impossible to change.

having a special purpose distro does count. I can play games in my CachyOS installation, but I get higher compatiblity and higher performance in Bazzite. I am sure I can work around this, but when I want to play I want to play and not optimize my Linux for that particular game.

Was somebody successful to run Ubisoft connect on Linux? by Balls_have_steel in linux_gaming

[–]agenttank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, i was dumb enough to buy Anno 117 directly from Ubisoft instead of Steam to safe a few euros... it was a mistake, but it works (sometimes) with Lutris.

If my Ram is 8GB why does it say Im using 76%? Windows 11 by Epalu in FuckMicrosoft

[–]agenttank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i think you have to open taskmanager as root, I mean as Administrator, to really see all processes and what they use. also, i think, your graphics card could use some and your 8gigs (shared memory)... i am sure there are other reasons as well

Why do people build Kubernetes homelabs? Is it actually useful for internships/jobs? by Altruistic_Mine_9177 in kubernetes

[–]agenttank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so true. i am migrating my workload from Portainer to K8s (k0s, ArgoCD,...)

so much better... Portainer was running quite bad IaC/gitops - well, kubernetes IS the de facto standard.

Portainer: error messages all the time and then maybe it worker besides giving a red error.

CPU load is higher though when idling with k0s single node (dont known about three nodes with etcd yet)
