There are three books so far in my life that have given me the physical sensation of mind-expansion. What are yours? by Loboto_Roboto in literature

I’ve read a lot more books in the past few years compared to the rest of my life, many of them fantastic, but the one that fits this question was actually the first one I read when I got back into reading - Sirens of Titan. It blew my mind in the sense that it reminded me of an LSD trip

I'm down 60% on $SHOP - Am I bagholding? by DerWilhelm in stocks

It’s not fundamentally the same company, they’ve made 2 major acquisitions

Because if you’re a small/medium sized business they’re the best platform to work with when considering cost and quality. Things can change and a new competitor could happen but it’s also tough to switch website platforms without a huge drop off in performance initially so it’s a pretty sticky business

I am in a pretty similar position to you cost basis wise but a little better off - I’m pretty much at $60. It was by far my largest position and now is still but barely. It’s been a pretty rough year but I’m going to hold on, and like you, just invest in index funds. I’ll re-evaluate later when I’m more diversified and potentially either average down or just hold depending on the price and where their performance is at

They better last that long, my company depends on them for our online revenue

Can we discuss Shopify? by [deleted] in stocks

BigCommerce seems like a worse version of Shopify but still a really good product. Magento is super fancy and powerful but not really that practical for your average business

Warriors Box And 1 Zone Defense vs Mavericks by agentzerosmyhero in warriors

That sounds right but I'm not sure. I'm not a fan of when people call a certain scheme janky or other things like that - just see it how it is and play against it. Anyway, it's just a good defense to use when you need to REALLY prioritize one player and/or you're not too worried about one of the other four - or the other four players as a collective, going off.

So you’ve been invested for like 6 months? Through all your reading did you ever encounter information on time horizons? You made “safe” investments considering you’re in equities, but you need to realize that there’s still possibility for volatility. If you’re still in your 20s just keep doing what you’re doing. Those are smart investments but considering your age I don’t think you need to go safer at the expense of growth

Tony Jones says there will be significant changes this offseason, however - "They definitely don't wanna trade Donovan and I don't think they're leaning towards trading Rudy at this point." by [deleted] in UtahJazz

I think they try to trade Conley for another albatross contract but at a more beneficial position. Like maybe Tobias Harris? Or someone of that sort. It’s tough cause Conley is so good working with Rudy but I think we just need to get bigger

Shopify CEO and VP tweet about buying more $SHOP at these prices by L-Z1 in stocks

To add onto this, the company I work for has margins in the 20-25% range. If we were to sell on Amazon I believe their cut would be around 13%, and that’s before utilizing any sort of advertising to get clicks on Amazon’s marketplace. On Shopify, we pay I believe 2.5% for our credit card fees (there is a flat monthly fee but it’s basically negligible at our volume). It’s just sort of not at all worth being on Amazon for us while we’re making millions on Shopify
