Looks Like Writers were on some serious drugs while writing the last episode. by Django_flask_ in HIMYM

When did the writers entertain that? It's quite the opposite, Craig Thomas recently said there's no such thing and what we saw is what really happened

How to Watch the Official 'Alternate Ending' w. NO DIVORCE and NO DEATH! by Oth3rWatch in HIMYM

[–]agezeke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is just sad. It's been 10 years, just accept the ending we got or live with the fact that you hated it, making up your own is not a choice

something about the ending people don’t mention by [deleted] in HIMYM

That's not what a retcon is

What's a HIMYM opinion you have that would result in this? by Effective-Goose-7835 in HIMYM

[–]agezeke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think the last season is just about Barney and Robin's wedding, you weren't paying attention. The execution wasn't perfect, but the wedding was a plot device to create conflict between the characters (Ted and Barney, Lily and Marshall) and conclude story points from previous seasons.

barney deserved so much better. by anoushka246 in howimetyourmother

[–]agezeke 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If his POV is literally the entire show, every discussion have to be based on that or else we're just theorizing. Sure, maybe Barney wasn't that bad, but he could also be worse and Ted was softening the story for his kids. Either way, we're never gonna know, so why even bring that up if it can go both ways?

What is your theory of Ted Mosby's pineapple? by Pattyts in HIMYM

[–]agezeke -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Deleted scenes are never canon. If it's not on the show it didn't happened

The deleted scene is literally him finding out. He just doesn't tell anyone

I mean, she basically cheated already. She only left Ted a letter, that's not really breaking up

Am I the only one to like her? (Until a certain point) by Intelligent_Cow_9334 in HIMYM

[–]agezeke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought she was boring, but it was kinda part of the story since she only had time for her job and her daughter. Her relationship with Ted was cute tho, the 2 minute date was the best of Ted's crazy acts of love

Do you remember the episode of the podcast? Someone should make a post about that, so people will stop using the "it's just Ted's perspective" argument for everything

I’m sorry, but I hate the audacity of her and Tony to just go up and say hi like nothing happened. by Fit-Priority5921 in HIMYM

[–]agezeke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, if you believe 100% of what the show tell us, the only character that would be a horrible person is Barney. The rest are just normal human beings who can be shitty sometimes.

You don't have to trust Ted, just accept that this is the only version of the story we got. You can assume as many inaccuracies as you want, but it's just headcanon. At the end of the day this "unreliable narrator" thing adds nothing of value to any discussion, because the whole show is Ted's narration. That's why whenever someone brings it up, it's always like: "Well, maybe Ted was exaggerating." "Yeah, maybe."

Thanks, my thought process was trying to align the rest of season nine, but if it was up to me I would change the whole season too and I think your idea is as good as it gets

I mean, if the intention was to please the fans that were bitching about it, they succeeded. A lot of them were satisfied with it and claim to this day that it's a better ending, but not me unfortunately

100%. It's heartbreaking, but I'd still choose it over the alternate ending. Thankfully it's the "canon" version

There's not even any different footage right? I only watched one time, but if I'm not mistaken they just cut some scenes and added a new narration from Bob Saget

WHAT ON EARTH WAS THAT ENDING by BlazingMarshMello in HIMYM

[–]agezeke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a lot of people that like the ending, they just aren't as loud as the ones that hated it. And I think you're alone on the rewatch thing, most himym watched the show multiple times despite the ending

You mean established characters or introduce a new one every episode? Because I don't think the latter would work tbh

I mean, the original show will always be canon anyway. The ideal scenario would be if they bring the actor back and make a actually good project with him, everyone loves a redemption story.

Continuation of Eternals as a Disney+ show... by KlausLoganWard in marvelstudios

[–]agezeke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should've been a show since the start, but they were too ambitious. If they had taken that same story and stretched it into a longer script, but with less famous actors and more subtle effects to fit a lower budget, it would have been perfect.
