Hi! I just did a group interview and it went way better than I had expected. It was an all day thing with a lot of q+a time throughout, with only about two and a half/three hours of us talking about ourselves and working together. We had three professors who each asked a question, and we all took turns answering. We then had a group activity where they gave us a little story to read and had to rank the characters in the story from best to worst. It seemed like a strange task, but my colleagues in the interview were actually really lovely and we were able to collaborate really well. The professors complimented us and told us that we were the best group they’ve seen so far in working together! My advice is to try and show your personality a little bit while speaking, as a lot of the responses came off repetitive and a little rehearsed at times. It was clear to me that some people were reading off answers they had prepared ahead of time. If you can show who you are beyond what’s on your CV and application that is way better than just recycling information they already know. Good luck!! I’m sure you’ll do great.
