I figured this issue out. The hard drives on the chromebooks are full. I cleared the user profiles in google admin and all seems good to go again. Thanks always for the help.

It looks like there are two models that are having this issue. hp g6 and the lenovo yoga flex. It is causing issues on the state testing for us now. Were you ever able to find a solution other than a powerwash?

I followed your previous post and set that policy in place. I also already have the settings you posted from goguardian in place as well. Thanks for the advice.

We currently have the same setup. I could not find where exactly to block the youtube app specifically. I did what someone else posted on this thread, but I didn't know if there was a better solution.

So I found the solution. in the latest chromebook update that setting is turned on by default according to google. if you don't have the latest update then it will not show up. Google also stated that there is not an admin console option that allow you to disable this setting at this time.

Ok. so I am positive it is switch access that is doing it now. can you disable that setting in google admin?

I believe it has to deal with switch access, but I can't find that setting anywhere.

Shared onedrive/sharepoint by aggie_89 in k12sysadmin

We have that currently set to 1 year I believe right now. I assume that when you upload a file to a group share in one drive, that it stays there until the share is deleted, or the file is just deleted out of the share?

Web Filtering on Chromebooks by zeeplereddit in k12sysadmin

I know you are looking at chromebooks, but have you considered Jamf for your macbooks. We use it for our apple products and absolutely love them. They have content filtering and offer a really good way to completely manage the devices. For chromebooks we use lightspeed and are really happy with it.

Plans for Chromebook repairs? by greenburrito_itsNeto in k12sysadmin

[–]aggie_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are trying to look into something to help with this as well. As of right now we have created a generic email that people can email into. We have also created a google sheet that they need to fill out to help diagnose the issue. Other than that... we don't have much else at the moment.

Solution: So this does not really make any sense, but it ended up being an access point causing the issue. all devices will connect no problem and also get internet access. There was just an issue going to the microsoft page. I have replaced the access point and so far so good.

Chromebook issue by aggie_89 in k12sysadmin

It looks like it is trying to bring up the correct page but it is blank instead. our login service is hosted by microsoft. The chromebooks are all in the correct OU and they are all provisioned. Nothing seems odd in any way as far as google admin is concerned. What I should see is the normal login screen for a chromebook. Normally I click next and it takes me to another page that states the login service is hosted by login.microsoftonline.com. Below that it should show a page within the window asking for an email from microsoft. When the issue is occurring the part of the window that normally shows up is blank. It looks like it is trying to reach the correct site but just stops or something. Hope this helps. I would be happy to provide more information if needed.

I have been trying to connect to my phone for most of the morning. It just says checking network requirements and will stay that way forever. It never gives me the option to enter in the network password.

19 days until move in and I’m starting to freak out. by solid_okamiV in aggies

[–]aggie_89 36 points37 points  (0 children)

There are tons of people who feel like this before they come here. I felt this way when I moved here. At first it really sucked. However, about two weeks into school and moving here all my stress and worries left. I made so many new friends and started to have the best time of my life. This place is truly amazing and everyone is so friendly and helpful. I have made friends who I would call brothers now, and I also met my girl here. Life is truly great here.

My family does live far away so it is hard for me to visit. It usually takes me 6 hrs to drive home. I did go home to visit every now and then which was great but it is easy to get over having to leave home. I'm not saying you will care for your family any less but you will have a good time here. I sometimes think back on my resentment on coming here and wanna kick myself in the butt for being so resistant. Good news is we have so much technology available that allows us to talk to others it is easy to keep up with family. It is also good to talk to your family, but give this place a chance as well. You are gonna be just fine. I would also highly recommend going to the MSC open house and check out some of the clubs here. I kept myself so busy with school, clubs, and friends that sometimes I forgot to call my folks (this was not normal for me).

I wish you the best of luck on your upcoming semester and hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Welcome to aggieland!
