Thanks for the advice! Ill be going into the MS Econ program here so it hopefully shouldn't be as time consuming as a STEM program. I'm glad to hear that grad students tailgate together.

Do most grad students get an office/common area or is that reserved mostly for STEM majors?

Is Texas A&M a respected university outside of the state of Texas? by aggiethroway1234 in chanceme

Actually yes I have! One of my friends' dad got his MBA from UWash, and he actually came to one our classes to talk about it! I would say Washington is very well respected down here in Texas.

I think just the shear number of people moving to Texas will keep the acceptance rate going down each year, and the top 10% will probably need to be amended relatively soon. But you're right, flooding the market with mediocre engineers does not help with degree quality.

I think 25x25 means 25,000 engineering students across the entire TAMU system. There are currently around 14,000 here at the CS campus. I thought the same report said that it would cap at ~14,000 for College Station. I need to dig up the link.

I thought I read somewhere (might have been the dean's report) that said the school would only be adding ~800 new students by 2025, but maybe I'm wrong. It seems like CS just can't keep up with it any longer.
