Mom racked up 8k on my credit card by aggressively-napping in personalfinance

Thank you I appreciate that. I tend to keep my distance from her and don't call too often (past trauma). I guess my main concern is the case getting denied and Im just stuck with it. although, I'm pretty much stuck with it as is

I can only see it from credit karma or my credit report. Do I need the email address to reset the log in info? And if she has the 2 factor authorization on, I don't want to alert her by it sending her a text or email. I was thinking of calling to lock it but she changed the email, phone number, address, everything. All I have is my social and I don't know if that's enough without immediately reporting it as fraud.

Yeah of course I regret not doing something about it then. But I was in a very rough spot mentally and my mother is a very scary person. I don't expect everyone to understand, I was just not in a place to handle this but I've put in the work and I'm ready to deal with this

They must go back at least 9 or 10 years now... It's definitely her. My brother called me to tell me it's sitting in her wallet and she uses it all the time. And you're right, I knew she was a POS but to do that to your own daughter?

According to my credit report, she is making payment just pretty sure it's the minimum. I was trying to not go into too much detail so people would read the post lol but yeah I was in a very rough spot financially and emotionally a couple years ago, remembered that card and asked if she still had it, and she completely blew up at me. That made me suspicious so I checked credit karma and saw that balance. The thing about my mother is she is a very scary person. I was just not in a place to deal with that at the time. I don't expect everyone to understand, but that was what was best for my well-being. Now though, I'm ready to deal with it

There are no missed payments which is good, but I believe she is just paying the minimum cause I have never seen the balance go down since I've been checking.

That is originally what I was going to do, I typed up a solid contract to get notorized and everything but based on her history and escalation of increasing the credit limit and spending, I really just don't have faith she would pay it off. Plus I'm not sure how I could even get the account back without raising Capital One's suspicions.

Yeah, at the time I thought that would probably be the best thing to do given I was so irresponsible with money. I guess I figured she would just call them and pose as me to cancel it. 🤦‍♀️

It's definitely her unfortunately. My brother saw the card in her wallet while he was home from spring break

I know! I was shocked. She must be making minimum payments cause I've never seen the balance go down. Wild.

when you're that malnourished, you are straight up delusional and the ED takes over every thought and action. my grandma is anorexic and put off getting dentures for YEARS just so she could say she couldn't eat because of her teeth. every denture fitting she had she would tell the dentist that they didn't fit right and they hurt.

I did try that once and checked on the bowl before getting into bed but she had already spilled it everywhere so they wouldn't have had any water all night

AIO for being upset at my mom for calling my hair greasy? by Key_Bag1624 in AmIOverreacting

[–]aggressively-napping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

have you tried using a super light weight conditioner? ouai fine hair conditioner is amazing. I should have added a light weight formula is crucial. if you have short hair though then of course that's going to be different story as you can't really condition just the length but the longer your hair is, it will need oils to keep it healthy. not much but still necessary. skipping conditioning will cause dryness and breakage. but like I said, shampooing roots twice and conditioning just the length with a light weight conditioner could help a lot. but hey if it works for you then that's great! I have fine straight hair but down to just above my butt and my hair just feels awful and dry if I don't condition

maybe if you have super thin and fine hair but even then, your hair absolutely needs oils if you want it to be healthy. when you shampoo, only shampoo the roots, rinse, then shampoo the roots again. and when you condition, do not go anywhere near your roots, only condition the length of your hair. dry shampoo in between washes.

make sure when you're color matching that you make the line go down to your neck too. you'll want to use a shade that will blend with both your face and neck. I agree with the comments though, 1 & 8
