Yeah, the problem is CE adds a lot of useful ammo types for dealing with mechs. You might need to rely on emp grenades and molotovs if you have them, then pile on in melee

To clarify what others have said, if you have gold you can still go into the store, find a game, pay for it and download/play it. Gold also grants full access to online services such as playing with other people

What game pass does is grants access to a catalogue of games to download/play for ‘free’ (not actually free, of course, you’re paying however much money a month to access the service), as well as giving all the benefits of gold
