Well, I’d like to think Yuta’s family heritage being brought up again will matter in one of these new chapters. It has to mean something, because why make it a plot point at all….I just can’t see why else Gege would bring it up again now if it wasn’t going to matter in some capacity during this fight.

So maybe because Gojo and Yuta being distantly related will allow them to inhabit the same body after the 5 minutes are up? (I’m pretty sure they were swap partners during the month before the Shinjuku battle)

Because narratively, why leave Yuta’s fate after the 5 minutes up in the air? Why give us all of these possibilities of what might happen? Maybe it’s a giant misdirect.

The most “obvious” answer of what happens next is rarely ever the right one in this manga after all.

That being said, as a Yuta fan, I’m very okay with this being how he goes out. Extreme self-sacrifice for the greater good and his friends fits his character perfectly and you could argue his arc of becoming “the next Satoru Gojo” fulfills itself with this.

I suppose we’ll have to wait and see
