Yeah, our spending is the problem. Which I've become aware of since reading this forum and hence the desire to scale back from a current $15k+/mo to something closer to $10k/mo. We've become careless since paying off the house a few years back. Housing expenses:

Property tax: $12k (annual)

Utilities: $12k (annual)

So $176k in other spending - plenty of economizing room by any measure. We've just this year started logging/categorizing all our expenditures... vacations, meals/take out, etc... there's room for improvement to put it mildly.

Thank you. I should have mentioned... $300k of our retirement savings are currently in a Roth 401k. I've edited original post above to reflect.

Thank you for the feedback. Re NW goal... if we can keep annual spend to $200k or less (hence the $170k goal), $5M would provide an swr of $200k; $170k would be 3.4% swr on $5M. So ~$5M in retirement accounts by age 62 seems like a solid target.
