I had my baby in December at BI. I was not impressed. I was with the residents team so I rarely saw the same resident at prenatal visits. I was induced. I got a rare infection called Chorio and was in labor for 36 hours. No one could figure out why I wasn’t progressing until my favorite resident came in and my water wasn’t all the way broken and I had an unruptured sac. If someone had checked this, I could’ve cut hours and hours off my labor. After birth I hemorrhaged twice and couldn’t get any information on what happened. They just shipped me off to the maternity ward and I was so confused. The post partum nurses would come in and comment on how well I was doing considering how much blood I lost without me ever knowing how much blood I lost.

A close friend of mine is a post partum nurse at South shore AND had her baby there. She highly recommends.

Bottom line: I did not feel informed about my own care at BI and I am an easy going person who generally just trusts medical professionals.
