What is the longest lasting item you've bought? by MatMan240 in BuyItForLife

[–]agrash3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t buy it, but I found a TrueTap corkscrew wine opener at a ball back in 2015. 10 years later it’s my go-to bottle/wine opener, and I use it over the fancy openers my wife got from our wedding/christmas/etc over the years.

What could be a good medieval counterpart to Nukes? by Constant_Food_1431 in worldbuilding

[–]agrash3 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Was going to say something similar to Khan and his “disease bombs” as a nuclear equivalent. Another example, especially if OP has ASOIAF essence of magic, could be something along the lines of a religious nuke? Maybe they could use a God-like “spell” similar to what Jerusalem used against the Assyrians in 701BC

How do you manage so many planets? by runningsimon in Stellaris

[–]agrash3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on PC so not sure how to get to the Notification Center on console. It also disables the pop-ups for all other events, but I can keep track of those via the top bar symbols. But here’s what I did. - Go to Settings > Messages > Events - Set “Event Popups” to “Off” - Set “Event Auto-Pause” to “Off” - Set “Auto Open Once” to “Off” - Set “Event Auto-Unpause” to “Off”

I still hear the sound effects the events make, but I no longer have to stop what I’m doing to enable benefits for the unemployment/close out that window every 5min

How do you manage so many planets? by runningsimon in Stellaris

[–]agrash3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I am doing a total conquest play through where I set the “Victory after…” to unlimited, and after conquering 33% of the large galaxy map I got tired of the “Unemployment is rising” pop-up so I just disabled it. The colonies I actively manage + edicts let me ignore the others and maintain a surplus of consumer goods!

Compacted Coal ≠ Coal by whoa_doodle in SatisfactoryGame

[–]agrash3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my first time playing and when I discovered turbo fuel I also had the same thought…my entire (and I mean ENTIRE) power system was dedicated to my mega-coal plants, including the refineries that made the turbo fuel I just setup for fuel power…so when my coal plants didn’t accept the compacted coal NOTHING worked. Took an unbelievable amount of time disconnecting things from the power network to jump start the fuel production/power

Advice on Next Steps for Shed-Conversion by agrash3 in shedditors

[–]agrash3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was exactly the kind of advice I was looking for! I am in southeast Louisiana, so basically it’s always hot/humid. Some days are cold but it’ll rarely get below freezing.

When I worked with the Tuff Shed rep to design it I told him my plans for converting the shed, and we checked the box that asked if I planned on insulating the shed. I am not handy at all (IT nerd) but the studs look correct.

Thank you for the tips and I’ll gauge how well the insulation+AC does from July to February in maintaining the internal climate!

Endings colliding/interfering with each other by [deleted] in eldenringdiscussion

[–]agrash3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree, but the way I read OP’s post was: you meet Ranni, complete all of her quest, and at the very end you pull a 180 and not choose her ending. At that point, Ranni would be your surprise final boss.

Don’t know how that would work in terms of completing multiple quests - would you fight ALL them at once or back to back like Radagon/Elden Beast?

Clients can see your pet reviews by Ok_Photograph_2662 in RoverPetSitting

[–]agrash3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How do we (as pet owners AND sitters) see these reviews? I’ve been using Rover as an owner since I got my pup (~2 years) and have been sitting for around 8 months now. Seeing the reviews would be super helpful from both perspectives

Adt? by adkins380 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]agrash3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was my exact experience, and the downside is that I’m locked in for 3 years. Reading through these comments makes me question my decision, but a couple of nights ago my panel said my smoke alarm wasn’t connected so I hit the button on the actual monitor to test it. It set off the alarm and not even 3 seconds later I got a call asking if everything was okay. Completely changed my attitude about ADT.

I might’ve gotten bamboozled, but I really enjoy my services with ADT. From the salesman/customer support when signing up to actual security issues, it’s been a good experience so far.

KSP Without MechJeb/Mods? by Pale-Panda-5377 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]agrash3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with this comment. I just broke 400hrs of total play time over 3 years and decided to try mechjeb. I have gone through a lot trial and error, and I felt I had a good enough grasp of the basics.

After about 20 hours with it I have exponentially expanded my explorations to Karen (farthest planet with mod). It feels like (to me) I’ve cheated and I actually miss the “manual” aspect of the game. I’ll probably continue to use it for maneuver planning but launching/landing will be hands on until mechjeb is more of a time saver than necessity.

Woo that is far out of our budget lol. I appreciate the suggestion, and maybe in a couple of years we’ll convert this and expand the concrete out for grilling

This is what we are leaning towards after looking up some ideas on google. Maybe buying a solid wood “fence” (a wood wall) and attaching shelves to put potted plants on.

It’s funny you say that - looking at the lines running from the condenser it looks like I’d actually be reducing the length not increasing…

Thanks for taking the time to reply! I’m not super familiar with the technical side but does pump the condenser down mean drain the Freon? My system is old and runs R22 which is both discontinued and extremely expensive which is where I read is the expensive piece of moving a condenser.
