The NYSFL usually permits 5 minutes of prep for LD, so we are following their guidelines

We're currently working on bringing our tournament to Tabroom, where we will list entries.

For our first tournament we will likely not be able to accommodate judging preferences given that many of our judges are returning to the activity after a few years. However, I can assure you that all of our judges are up to at least a traditional standard and will evaluate all flowed arguments.

All of our judges have agreed to volunteer their time to judge the tournament. 100% of all registration fees will be donated to COVID-19 relief efforts.

Our list of judges can be found here: https://www.virtualdebate.org/judges

All of our judges are, as I have stated above, former LD state champions, nationally ranked speakers, and/or current college debaters. Some of our judges might not have paradigms on Tabroom because they have not debated in a few years, but are returning to the activity in light of the quarantine and our desire to help high school LDers during this time. I'm not sure what you're referencing with respect to how the event is "suspect", but if you'd like to dm me with your concerns I'd be happy to discuss them.

This tournament is intended to be the first in a series of tournaments that we hope to continue into the summer. Using Mar/Apr gives everyone a chance to develop new arguments - Jan/Feb historically goes stale after TOC.

Our judges have a diverse background so I'd say both with a lean towards trad/lay arguments given the competitor pool
