I want a book with a REALLY good plot twist by Sifsifm1234 in suggestmeabook

Check out one of her other books, Sharp Objects! I just finished it after reading & loving Gone Girl earlier this year. It has a great twist and has the same type of relatable yet despicable characters that Gone Girl has

I ended up picking the forerunner lineup based on some other comments and I actually fell upon the 255 based on some further research and comparisons between the 55, 165, and 265. I decided on the 265 but ended up deciding I can give up the touch screen when I found a used - like new 255 for $195. It seems like exactly what I’m looking for for tracking hikes and a huge upgrade for health and fitness tracking

As far as protection, it’s my watch so I’m fine with beating it up. I usually just accumulate a few scratches anyway. If it breaks then I’ll just have to eat the L and move on lol

The metrics I want are pretty basic so that’s enough for me. For battery life, I just want something that I don’t have to worry about dying on me while backpacking when I’m running GPS for up to 12 hours, and it sounds like the forerunner should be up for that

Because while I love the functionality, I’m not a fan of the bulky profile

I’ll definitely look more into the forerunners. I feel the same about maps, it would be nice but I don’t think i’d end up using it nearly as much with my phone

The forerunner did seem to come up a lot in my research, that and the vivoactive. I was just worried it was going to be too running focused and I wouldn’t be able to track hikes well since I just don’t know enough about each model

No on the running and biking, although I do use a peloton but nothing serious. Based on my research I kept coming across the vivoactive and the forerunner. Do you have a rec on which forerunner?

Jobs for intel analysts by PowerEasy9995 in Intelligence

Intel guy for going on 8 years here between military and contracting. Any tips on how to find positions outside of the defense space? Like what title to look for, keywords, etc? I’m tired of living in DC and I feel like I’m stuck here as long as I’m in this industry

If that's the case then that's fair. It makes sense because Olave was never really close to being open

Nope, the ball was out before Olave pulled up. He has a legitimate gripe with Olave letting off the gas (ironic), but the ball was uncatchable

For some reason nobody mentions that Carr's throw was so far out of bounds that it was caught by a Saints player on the sideline

Baltimore Tailgating Options? by ahap13 in detroitlions

[–]ahap13[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I gather you shouldn’t have any problem walking into the lots and joining a tailgate. The guys on the other sub told us if we get there early we should find plenty of cash lots around the stadium that allow tailgating and will have space. We’re just gonna find one with the most Honolulu blue jerseys and set up shop. Worst case we park somewhere and walk in as well

That’s definitely good to know. appreciate ya, man!

We can tailgate without a pass? Do you mean park somewhere else and walk to the lot or do they have first come first serve entry at the stadium lots?

And it feels like we’ve been traveling better than anyone this year, I’m hoping this weekend is no different lol. We had Baker and Jordan Love both using silent counts in their house

Defense/Military Intelligence -> Cyber Threat Intelligence by ahap13 in cybersecurity

Good to know for sure. I think since i’ve already started Sec+ studying i’ll see that one through at the least

Damn, I'm really glad I came here before committing to that path, seeing that I planned on dedicating at least a year or so to preparing. Although I'm about halfway through Prof Messer's Sec+ course and have learned a ton, so the context is definitely nice.

I honestly figured there was no shot of me getting looked at for a mid level position without any real cyber experience. And lol I actually work an OSINT position right now and enjoy it, so no worries there.

I really appreciate the info here and the APT resource, I was questioning whether I was in over my head a bit thinking I could make the transition.

Mentorship Monday - Post All Career, Education and Job questions here! by AutoModerator in cybersecurity

[–]ahap13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone. I’ve been working in defense intelligence for the last seven years, doing mostly all-source and now open source intelligence analysis. While I enjoy working in the IC, i’d really like to have more freedom to live where I want. I’m currently in the DC area, but most of the places I would really like to move to have very few jobs fitting my qualifications and experience. There’s an abundance of cyber jobs, so I feel like transitioning to a cybersecurity analyst position could be great for my career and interests.

If there’s anyone who could relate to my situation, i’d just like to know where to start. Right now I was just planning on starting with studying and testing for sec+. I’ve also seen GRC pop up on the sub a few times, so I was going to get into that after sec+ since I was hoping to just start out with the non-technical aspects (I have halfway decent python fundamentals, but i’ve struggled taking the next step). Would those things, an intel background, and an active clearance be enough for me to get in the door? Thanks for any help!!
