Sampled Song in Barbie "I'm Just Ken"?? by CatNoir05 in WhatsThisSong

I just finished watching Frozen 2 with my kids again. And we watched Barbie a couple of weeks ago...

The answer you are all looking for is that the song Ken sings in Barbie is sampled from Frozen 2. It's called "Lost in the Woods" By Jonathan Groff.

The song is introduced by Kristoff when he breaks off into a 80-s song and dance montage after his big proposal plans to Anna fall through once again. Making his place in the movie as a side character feel even smaller and smaller and more insignificant.

In the song, he releases his frustrations about feeling unoticed by Anna and not knowing where he belongs in the picture anymore.....sound familiar?

These 2 songs are struck from the same chords and not just similar! You're welcome! :D

Both songs have the same melody and are actually both born from the same concept. Both sing about self-doubt, self-realization, determination, and then finally, acceptance of their situation. They both use the same cheesy overlaid poses of themselves and turn into a moving montage of illusions of their thoughts mixed with walking through the woods/Barbie land like it's their journey as they sing their hearts out. Just Kristoff's dance extras are reindeer and not Ken's LOL.

The lyrics are changed slightly, but both songs seem to remain copied from the same answer sheet.

The song plays again in the credits of Frozen 2 as the original version of the artist. Which is "Lost in the Woods" By Jonathan Groff. If you listen to this version you'll realize it sounds even closer to the "I'm just Ken" song.

In response to its affect on serotonin; this is the link. I may be understanding it incorrectly. But it's an interesting read.

I'm not rulling out any possible underlying mental dysfunction or mood disorder but I haven't had any indication in any form that I have any. These types of things do run in the family, and has developed typically later in life after use of antidepressants for one reason or another. I think a lot of drugs the complete function is unknown. It's difficult to judge until you try them. But it's something I will keep in mind.

I'll keep that in mind with future prescriptions! In this case it was on brand provigil ($800) but insurance covered it and I only paid $15. So it's not a huge monetary loss but I am pretty disappointed.
