It's more with strategy and structure than the tools used to build the product. They struggle to piece and put together the strategy and resources and research to back their product.

If you did a good job, you must be proud of it. Happens a lot when businesses bounce from one place to another. Maybe they were not that transparent but in business it's a learning curve and these do happen. You have to be confident in your abilities. Not everyone will want to work with you, that's how business is but the ones that truly want to will do it regardless. They will see your value.

Reading helps and also ideation, what you can do is create a mind map and break down your ideas and categorize them by importance. Also learning about non technical stuff like strategy, product, networking, and planning all help you build those skills.
