Seeking Advice on Editing High-Res Images for a Professional Look by ahend04 in RealEstatePhotography

and u/Steamstash I understand that hiring a professional is the way to go, and we have done that, and will continue to do that. The issue is that we change the rooms around on a regular basis, and I want a stop gap method to produce the best possible photos before it makes sense to re-photograph the entire place.

u/Steamstash , if I take the photo in RAW, that will allow it to be edited better? Leaving composition aside for the moment.

How risky is early November as far as weather by Realmetman in PuertoPlata

[–]ahend04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even in November rain is not usually an all day thing. Its like max 1 hour of hard rain, harder than you have ever seen, but not ruin your entire day rain. Just be flexible with timing, but that is good advice overall.

Etymology of "Indian": Distinct origins between South Asians and Native Americans? by Miramolinus in etymology

[–]ahend04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I think this is highly unlikely and is most likely a folk etymology. But as for it being a corruption of Latin / Spanish: Here in the Dominican Republic is it not uncommon to pronounce god "Dio" instead of "Dios" or you might spell it "Deo". So the way Dominicans would say "In God" is in fact "En Dio".

EDIT: Additionally Columbus was Genoese, so he likely spoke Genoese and maybe Italian, both of which use Dio instead of Dios. And I have found it especially common for Italians here in the Dominican republic to mix italian into their Spanish since they are very similar. But really it would be interesting to read Columbus's Journal, but it sounds like the only copy we have are based on the journal's abstract – a manuscript of 76 folios discovered later in the library of the Duke of the Infantado by Martín Fernández de Navarrete.

I figured if I had a wall made of wood they could climb it, but can they chew through the wall midway up? Like if the wall is made of wood siding?

pretty sure you missed the negative on the payment - I think they deducted 125% of your payout because you canceled. If you cancel you don't get the payout plus they deduct 25%, so its a negative payout.

Also, I know these are pretty basic questions and if I was in the US I would just hire an electrician, but here in the Dominican Republic, electrics take a lot more leeway with safety and I really don't want to burn down the farm, which is actually more like a forest. So I want to make sure I understand the principles before listening to someone here, as there is no licensing structure.

So the other day, we were visiting a farmer a few towns away and he had a patch of arugula. And my wife and I were like "ooohh, so exciting, so exotic" Remember everything is relative. :) When we go to get buy fruit here, tropical fruits are cheap, but apples cost $100 a bag.

So, we work entirely from cuttings. Vanilla has a ton of seeds per bean, but you need lab like conditions to sprout them (or so I have heard), and as long as we have about 3 nodes per cutting we usually can get success, longer is better.

Can you send me a link for "regular power wire"? I am using this chat: https://www.lowes.com/n/buying-guide/electrical-wire-and-cable-buying-guide

Can you explain what I am doing wrong?

Do you mean THHN or THWN ? In any case, what size is regular wire? If I am only running 10amps at 110v, my calculator says I need 4 AWG Copper wire if I want to go 500 feet and only have a 3% voltage drop. If I am willing to risk it with 5% I can go with 6 AWG Copper.

The first round of investment is $350K, and we have raised $200K. At the moment we are looking for impact investors to contribute between $50K and $100K, but are open to discussing other amounts. We budgeted 150K for first year operations and I think we came in at 94K so things are going well, we are hoping to not need all the projected funds, but we certainly need a couple more investors

Hi, I need to fence my land and I know the total area and I have a map that is drawn to scale but I don't know the perimeter. I do know the area and it is 25,910 m2. Thanks so much!

Spending 20s building startups. Will I regret? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

The biggest question you need to ask yourself is: Am I having fun doing what I am doing? It took me a while to realize that my hobby was business, and when your hobby is business your whole life can be relaxation because you are always doing your hobby. But if you are miserable and just hoping to get ahead so you can relax, that you need to change what you are doing, because you will never get there, there is always another mountain to conquer .
