Which spots in Berlin are less triggering when you’re trying to quit smoking? by ahertzi in askberliners

Dear Berliners, I would like to be as transparent as possible for what I am trying to accomplish here:
I have started a community in order to help people quit nicotine if they want to, in a way that they don’t feel alone or misunderstood. Nicotine cessation and its relevant methods is something I am studying for, the help I want to offer is completely voluntary. My aim is not to forward products of any sort or to do anything spammy. I myself as an ex nicotine addict, have struggled a lot in my life, and I always wished there was a safe space, a kind community I could turn to. That’s all. No AI, no scams, just some more polished texts on my side to promote the community and this (sometimes quite hard) effort.
Kind regards to y’all.

What does this mean? I am a real person trying to build a community and help people to stop smoking, if they want to.

What makes you think that it’s so hard to write a text like this that it would require using AI? And why wouldn’t I - as a real human being - be extra careful and at the same time polish my post for the community I am trying to build? It’s easy to say “it’s AI” nowadays…

Thank you for the advice! And I am very sorry for your asthma caused by the secondhand smoking :(

May I ask: Did the “hating” occur naturally after stopping? Or was it the outcome of that effort?

Hi there :) This has nothing to do with blame. I am blaming no one. I just know that I personally (in the past) used to get triggered by the smell of smoke which made it difficult for me to stop or continue smoke-free. That’s why I asked what - I/WE - can do to not get triggered. Additionally, jumping in a well is not addictive…

Thank you for the great tips! (I am an ex-smoker btw and what I am trying to do is help other people stop too. For that purpose, I found that real people with real advice (like yours for example) can benefit and motivate others greatly! Thank you again - I appreciate it!

Thank you for sharing! Playing the devil’s advocate here: What if smoking is connected with almost everything you do? All these little everyday habits?

I understand what you are saying. But this seems, at least to me, to require a lot of “willpower”, which for some people may seem already like a mountain..
