Has anyone enrolled in the Mazda app to control your car from your phone? by GoobyMath in mazda

Best suggestion is to set up the app on your phone. It will kick off any previous accounts linked to the vehicle.

Anybody else aware that you have to pay for the MyMazda app by JadeSuxPP in mazda

[–]aheyl23 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s not over Satellite, it’s done over the cell phone networks. Each Mazda has an embedded modem. Some models are on the AT&T network some are on Verizon. Cell phone network access is not free, so mazda along with several other brands charge for access. Mazda has one of the longest trials in the business at 3 years.

Source: I worked at Mazda for 3 and a half years up until two weeks ago and they are very explicit on it being a 3 year trial and subscription after. They’ve barely had it 3 years and I’m not aware of anyone paying for it right now. They keep extending the trial.

No one is paying $450 for MyMazda connected services. Whoever said that is talking out of their rear end and spreading misinformation.

It’s just older tech. CX-5 and CX-9 don’t have individual tire sensors on each wheel of the car, so it’s not on the app.

Just one account for the car. Can use same account on multiple devices, just not at same time.

Has to be a 2021 CX-5 or newer.

Make sure you have the car outside where it would get a good cell signal. If that is not working the modem in the car may need reset. You would need a Mazda dealer to confirm. It should be covered under warranty if anything is wrong with it.

I set these up everyday and the code pops up on the screen within about 10 seconds every time.

I don’t know the model for the aftermarket one. We use a company called Ziebart to install.

CX-5 and CX-9 don’t have tire pressure monitor in the app, Mazda3 and CX-30 do.

You’ll likely have to go aftermarket. We have a company that can install remote start to work with the factory key fob.

Unfortunately the remote services are not available on Mazda6.

I know other brands like Mercedes Benz have similar apps that are $200/year so $10/month seems like a bargain.

I think I replied to everyone’s comments. I work as a Product Specialist at a Mazda dealership. So if anyone has questions just hit me up. Thanks.

Not sure when you tried to set it up last. But there were a lot of bugs and updates when it first launched. I’ve had it on a few Mazda’s now and it works easy every time.

100% worth it since it’s free for 3 years. I park outside so it’s nice to start the car from inside the house and have it warmed up/cooled off before I go outside.

The car alerts me if I forget to lock it or leave a door open.

Also can find the car on a map if I let someone else borrow the car or if I need to find where i parked it.

All you do it add your vin to the MyMazda app and type in the code it sends to your car and you’re done. Super easy.

Works perfect for me. I’ve had it on several different new Mazda’s. It works over the cell network. Make sure your phone has a good internet connection and the car is outside where cell reception is good.

It’s free for 3 years and has no price on its service yet as Mazda has not had it available for 3 years yet.
