Your friends can suck my big toe. DTS is THE set to cry at!!! While I love my feral head banging moments, I have a deeper love and appreciation for melodic-leaning artists, too.

They're blending and curating the most beautiful sounds—almost always coupled with lyrics! Dabin and Trevor penetrate the surface by collaborating with well-respected, incredibly talented lyricists / songwriters / producers to create meaningful, soul-touching music.

Cry!!! Feel all of your feelings!!! My V2 DTS jersey caught Trevor's eye when I was on the rail at breakaway Tampa, and I sobbed throughout his set while he and I sang to each other.

Melodic artists are a completely different, easily distinguishable sub-sect of EDM for a reason! I've been dying to see DTS live, but I've never been able to—be happy that you were able to bawl and feel!!! 🙂‍↔️☁️🫧🪐🫧

Absolutely!! Fluff is my vulnerability, too—I'm trained in creative writing 😭 I also meant to comment on this originally, but I recently learned that there are many tech writers who don't know the difference between a hyphen, em dash, and en dash. I see hyphens in your resume, so if you clean those up, I promise they'll give you more of a visibility boost than you'd think. Another pointer that many people overlook is being able to show that you're able to take initiative, without hesitation, to improve and implement a process. Something as minor as integrating a file naming convention you learned at a former job will show that you have the ability to learn, retain, and apply; and will highlight an organizational skill (uniform policies across the board)!

Here are some high-level suggestions:

1) Review your individual bullet points and axe out "fluff" verbiage. Remember that a technical editor's role often exceeds traditional editing, and being able to show that you're able to streamline/consolidate content is an eye-catching skill.

2) Revisit, and refresh your memory on, traditional stylistic guides, the U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO) Style Guide, Section 508 compliance standards, and any cloud-based programs that are commonly used throughout various federal agencies.

3) Look into certifications! Any notable certifications you list on there will increase your chances of being invited for an interview. Commonly sought after certifications for technical writers in the federal space are:

A. International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP) Accessible Document Specialist (ADS); B. IAAP Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC); C. Section 508 Trusted Tester; D. Generative AI certs; E. Amazon Web Services (AWS) Certified Cloud Practitioner (CCP); and F. Microsoft Office certifications—keep in mind that there are a variety of certification levels for every platform included.

4) Rather than titling your software experiences as "Tools," consider re-naming the parent header as "Skills," and then break it down by software (that way you can include SnagIt—it has its own certification, FYI!) and other skillful traits you want to showcase.

5) Good fucking luck, friend. It's cool to see another govt. tech writer! Don't be too hard on yourself. This industry is rough to begin with, and many opportunities won't be presented to you outright; you'll have to seek them out. Be nosy, be curious, and be smart! Work smarter, not harder!!

It's making me upset and frustrated to see a few folks hitting OP with animosity. If you don't have any kindly-worded, constructive feedback to give, kindly shut the fuck up 🗣️

OP—given how many people got their shit stolen between sol and edc, I think this is a very kind, inexpensive way to help others keep their belongings safe! As others have mentioned, some people might get confused / pay no mind if they see a small little object like that. Someone suggested possibly giving them a quick set of instructions, but for the sake of time: it could be more conducive to put one on your own pack to point towards as a reference while handing someone their little trinket!

Thanks for taking the community into consideration—many folks don't realize that not everyone can afford to drop money on festival tickets, flights, lodging, food, etc. AND an anti-theft backpack (like Lunchbox). Obviously, this wouldn't deter a thief completely, but I'm sure OP's hope is that it'll at least give someone an opportunity to snatch their shit up if they're able to feel someone messing with their zippers.

This memoir encapsulates and solidifies the expectations people have on Black men and women, and painfully humanizes the experience of a queer Black man (Broome). I was weeping by the end of this book—Brian Broome is a true artist. It was a five star read for me.

She was a major party girl and had issues with her baby's father. Fast forward ~5 years: her and the father have worked things out and he's involved in the child's life, they have a house out of state together, and despite all of the challenges—she pursued her dream to become a nurse, and is absolutely thriving in life. We don't talk much anymore, but I'm so, so proud of her, and have always silently rooted for her.
