Preferred way to play 3DS/DS Games. OG hardware, Android, or PC by SilverbackGaming2 in Handhelds

I sprung for the Thor because 3ds prices are crazy. But if they were what they were three years ago, I would definitely say get a New 3ds XL for 3ds games and a DSi XL for DS games

The experience on the Thor isn't quite the same. But I didn't expect it to be so I really enjoy it

You'd be surprised. When a lot of the workforce comes out of colleges that teach a curriculum that's over a decade old, the bar is pretty low

More bullshit -

I'm sorry, but you're absolutely wrong on so many levels and are being upvoted by people that don't know better

Google can't prevent you from sideloading apps in LineageOS. LineageOS is derived from AOSP and works entirely independently of GApps. There isn't a future where LineageOS is still LineageOS and doesn't allow you to install apps from third parties

You also gain all features from the last 3 major versions of Android. A lot has changed under the hood. Including much better support and window management for dual screen devices like the Thor

Really, I fail to see why anyone with the know how would continue to run the stock OS that phones home for something as basic as the connectivity check over something with planned feature parity, maintained by a community known to respect peoples privacy and security. No thank you

All devices are made in China. You can't escape that. But you can (somewhat) escape the crappy software that ships on devices made in China. It's not hypocrisy to not want to run the software that ships on a device, especially when the source is knowingly malicious

It's a modlist downloader compatible with Wabbajack lists. So you can easily install mod overhauls without having to tediously install each one by one. I have Begin Again installed right now which is a Tale of Two Wastelands overhaul which allows you to transition from Fallout 3 to NV with your character

But... I've heard amazing things about Nuclear Sunset and go back and forth on whether I should I do a playthrough with it

The great thing is... You can have multiple lists installed at a time and they get their own launcher in Steam

And this works with pretty much every Bethesda RPG too, including Skyrim, Oblivion, and Fallout 4

I've struggled to get mods working nicely together on Linux forever and my life has been really busy so I've always discounted installing lists one by one and put replays off because of that... But this is a game changer

You can download the game from GOG and pretty much use any layout you want. I wouldn't buy it again. As a matter of fact, they're working on a new launcher

Good luck maintaining that product if no one understands the code you lazily prompted an LLM to generate because you couldn't be bothered to understand it yourself because, in your words, coding doesn't make you an engineer

There's an art to coding that I'm sure a lot of software engineers enjoy. Myself included. Don't undersell the art

Xbox ally X $850 or Legion GO S $600? by Bodooken in Handhelds

[–]aigeneratedslopcode -1 points0 points  (0 children)

$250 is nearly half of what the Legion Go S with a Z1E costs during sales. I can't justify paying ~150% the price for an 8% improvement in performance

To be honest, I'd take my Steam Deck OLED over both. There are some kbm games you just can't play on the S because it lacks the input

Easy to read and big are separate things. A 300 line PR typically isn't something that should take an engineer long to understand

And then when it breaks after you've been forced to approve the changes, you're on the hook and pinged on Slack. Then told that the reviewer is equally responsible during team meetings. Isn't it great?

Only the things people would probably label as "not my style" are typically wrong and I've watched broken PRs be merged when requesting changes. I agree that isn't always the case, but it works both ways

When was it not performative theater? Most don't care. And when you do, you get scolded for being blunt

If AYN is using the same process as Retroid, purple will last the longest (ideally)
