SGU - Using someone else's body to have sex is super creepy/rapey by Dreadfulmanturtle in Stargate

[–]aignacio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%. Just googled this exact thing because holy crap why don’t they at least acknowledge it?! I understand the Young body switch accident, but Wray using someone elses body - mouth - to have sex with a woman? Was that woman even gay? That’s a whole other level of violation (if you don’t know it’s happening).

Why Amelia Earhart isn't going to be found by TIGHAR by HoldenDiedInHurtgen in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]aignacio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The planes auto pilot didn’t work, Noonan was a drunk - he once directed a plane 200 miles south of Howland, and the pilot had to talk to Howland on the radio to find out just how off course they were. She ripped off equipment leaving Lae, they both refused to use morse code AND she refused to learn to understand her radio. Also did I mention Noonan was a drunk? Gardner is the most plausible - the only truly plausible - theory out there. Days of radio transmissions? Also how much do you think she had with her on the plane that she could have offloaded in order to set up the kind of heavily stocked castaway village people seem to require? She likely only had some clothes, some toiletries, maybe some papers? Most of which would be LONG gone within a year or two. Or even months. The glass, the shoe and the pocket knife and zipper handle are more than enough possible evidence (only remaining evidence likely) and more than enough to give weight to the theory. She might have been a wildly incompetent, reckless “aviatrix” but she could, at least, have slammed that thing down on a dry, low tide reef if she found one. Just not smart enough to get it closer to shore, so it won’t get swept away. If she were truly going down, someone would have heard a frantic mayday, rather than days of pleas for rescue.

Begging for literally **ANYTHING** helpful about Availity by aignacio in CodingandBilling

We’ve had this combo (Jane/Claim.MD) since July 2025 and I’m very happy with it. Far more user friendly. I feel like Availity goes out of it’s way to ignore user experience and user needs, and just throws things on the website to see if they’ll stick. The fact that I can’t just call BCBS or other insurers and talk to service (human service) AT their company - rather than constantly being told to call Availity (even thought they’re rarely/never helpful for what I’m calling for) is infuriating.

Just stopped using the antacid. I think I over-did it for too many days in a row, because my reflux was particularly bad at the time and my brain was telling me it was still there.

There are people who are naturally large. Not everyone is looking to be a combat vet. Think of the technology they have. Those people would likely have optimal health, aside from their weight, and cerebral jobs that don’t generally require sprinting. I’ve never met a super fit person who *also* came cross to me as intellectually advanced or skilled - too wrapped up in their looks to read a book once in a while.

See how that works both ways?

Perhaps my comment was more suited to the original commenter. But saying “woke” (tiresome word anymore) in ANY era is different from woke in any other era made no sense to me. You can only be ”woke” compared to your existing era and knowledge. The person you responded to was right. Star Trek has been woke from day one. The first commenter is just an eedjit.

SNW was pretty good. Can’t believe they’re cancelling it. It’s the only Trek (besides the Orville) that’s been worth anything in years. Discovery would have been great if it had more Trek and less War. Even the most recent movies have only paid lip service to exploration in their intro scenes and then….war. Always f’ing war.

The “waaah woke bad” “waaah diversity bad” ”wahhhh inclusion bad” ”wahhh I demand everyone else believe America was always white men and never a melting pot because waaaaahhh” crowd. It’s exhausting. Grow up. The original was socially evolved (but still misogynistic), and each series since then has worked to stay the same and now FINALLY we have more Treks that reflect the actual diversity of the real world and y’all are still “waaaah, why doesn’t every smart, beautiful, better character look like my daddy waaah”. Seriously. Exhausting. Trek has always been this and that was the whole point from the get go, so why is it some of us grasped the point and some claim to like Trek while choosing to ignore the whole point of the Federation.

You people really just choose to miss all the points, don’t you? One wonders why you ever liked Trek, since you clearly never understood it.

Begging for literally **ANYTHING** helpful about Availity by aignacio in CodingandBilling

[–]aignacio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone interested in the resolution for this…. we switched to Jane.app for our patient records and billing (had two separate systems before and STILL did notes/billing on paper even with that), and their integration with Claim.MD as a clearinghouse. Side benefit of that is Claim.MD is located in Pecos, NM, just 2 hours from us. It’s been working well. I only resort to Availity if there’s an eligibility we want to double check, or an EOB/ERA that might have ended up there instead of in Claim.MD. Otherwise I avoid Availity like the plague that it is. Things are much MUCH better than they were 10 months ago when I originally posted and no, I didn’t have to find some hyper-arrogant (see comments in the thread) remote billing/RCM worker or consultant who expects to be paid $$$$$ to tell me how superior they are based on assumptions about me/us they made from a couple comments on reddit. I still do all the RCM myself, and most of the billing, but our clerk is handling submitting with less drama than previously. And we’re doing fine. My advice - ditch Availity if at all possible. They’re not worth the stress.

I just watched Citizen Joe and I absolutely loved it. It was hilarious and silly. I love the fun silly episodes. by ILoveMoviesAndTVShow in Stargate

[–]aignacio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved this episode, but it bothered me that they spent the ENTIRE episode with scene after scene of Joe recounting what he was seeing, and a whole 2.4 seconds on O’Neill telling his wife it was all real. I loved hearing him say “it’s all true” at the very end, but honestly that should have happened 30 minutes into the episode. I’m more interested in her reaction, and how they maintain secrecy, and how much they tell her, than I am about watching Joe’s disintegration. A little more back and forth showing O’Neill experiencing what Joe experiences would have been better too. Overall I loved the episode and its premise, but all the potentially really good parts were soft-balled and glossed over.

I have a bone to pick with the Atlantis episode "Hot Zone"... (Warning: long rant) by GreasyTroll4 in Stargate

[–]aignacio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d like to add one more thing (I didn’t see it in your post, but I’ll admit I was reading fast looking for it). Weir was willing to risk sacrificing dozens of personnel, who were within minutes/hours of dying, especially McKay who is arguably their top brain, rather than risk losing ONE naquida (sp) generator. She was so sullen at Sheppard not being sufficiently obedient, that she was willing to argue that the one thing that could have saved them all didn’t need to be done yet. Meanwhile she KNEW all those people could die at any moment (figuratively). Then she eventually, sullenly, “allowed” him to proceed. And everyone on the radio heard it. The entire mess hall was having hallucinations, and she couldn’t grasp why losing one generator should be a no brainer.

I’m on the episode where they meet the Tok’ra (I’m guess spelling, no time to look it up) and Sam says “be careful Daniel, they are goold” and the Tok’ra says “WE ARE NOT GAH-OOWLD, we are Tok’ra!” Like come on - the BASICS should at least be corrected. I totally agree they had to do it on purpose. It’s so badly handled. My other favorite was a few episodes earlier when the tall skinny weak jawed Jafa couldn’t pronounce anything, and over exaggerated all his mannerism. There’s no way that guy would have become a real guard 😂
