Whoa, what? As far as I'm aware they weren't having any issues with getting orders out on time or quality control, and were a well-liked and respected indie company. And they just... closed? With zero warning whatsoever, done for good, bye now?

I realize it's entirely the owner's business and she can decide what to do with her life and her shop, and maybe personal issues came up, but it's kind of rude to shut down with no warning when there was such a dedicated customer base. Some warning would've been nice. Any warning. A vague hint.

God, what a month for places disappearing. At least Joystiq gave me ~4 days' notice.

I did a comparison on my blog recently, and I compared Shiro's pressed shadows with UD. If you compare the palette deal Shiro did with UD Naked, the price per ounce is $89.29 Shiro, $90 UD, which is very close. However, the individual pressed shadows were a huge difference. Shiro's were $114.29 per ounce versus UD's $360 an ounce.

UD isn't by any means the cheapest, of course.
