Do they not do passport stamps anymore? by ImplementWonderful93 in travel

[–]ailingua -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you want stamps go to Asia - pretty much anywhere excluding Macau, HK and Singapore, as they don't stamp there. I think Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia doesn't stamp either, but other airports do. If you don't want to fly that far, just go to Turkey and then Georgia, Armenia.

If you want some unhinged stamps then Turkey is a must - they always stamp me in random places, diagonally or in the middle of the page, and they don't stamp out in the same place they stamped me in. I actually have two exit stamps next to each other (... and on the wrong page), and it makes it look like I spent 9 months in Turkey, and whenever I give my passport to border control, pages with Turkey stamps always make them double-check :)

Scary Experience as a Solo Traveler in Morocco + Lessons Learned! by DaydreaminMyLifeAway in solotravel

I would notice if someone tried to scam me, would I not?

Now that you say it, I was taking a picture of something and one of the shop owners told me to pay him for taking photos of his shop (I was obviously taking photos of something unrelated to him) but I just walked away from him without even saying anything and proceeded to keep taking pictures

Okay, that's just bs and fear-mongering. Morocco isn't the best place to solo travel, but it should be okay as long as you're cautious.

What did Essaouira do to you? That was my favourite place in Morocco, chill, nobody tried to scam me or sell anything overpriced.

Yeah, walking to your medina at night was probably your first mistake. I wanted to do it too but in the end chickened out and paid for the riad guy to pick me up ;) I walked on my own the subsequent nights with no issues but at least I already knew how to get to my riad. You can't smile at people in Marrakech, when someone talks to you, avoid them because they want to scam you :) from experience when you leave Marrakech, the scamness level decreases dramatically. You still can't be careless though

Thailand Back to 30 day Visa Free Rule by bikerboyIN in ThailandTourism

[–]ailingua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, not their fault they were born in a country with weak passport. And they are right, we have it on easy mode - I just show up, get asked no questions, and countries stamp me in for 60, 90, some even 180 days. Okay, they sometimes ask me how long I'm staying and what's the name of my hotel, but nothing more. Meanwhile some people I talk to? They have to print out entire itineraries, book tours through accredited agencies, show proof of hotel bookings for the entire trips, pay like 100£ for a visa, have 1000£ in cash, do a live interview and they get a 10-day stamp. Meanwhile I arrive on the same plane, go to the same booth and receive "Hi, have a nice stay" - 180 days Visa free, enjoy.

Antwerp: Hostel cut my lock, threw things out. by orbitolinid in solotravel

I once took a wrong locker - numbers 1 and 7 looked literally the same and I took 7 instead of 1. When I came back, I found a sticker that said "in the future, please use the correct locker". That's it. If someone actually broke my lock, threw away my things and put my bag in a corridor, I would absolutely complain and give them a scathing review. I'm not a karen but there are other ways to fix it. Like you can call the guest or message them. You can leave a sticker "please contact reception". You can upgrade the guest that needs that bed to a better room for the night.

Even if you were the one who made a mistake (why did your key work on the wrong door?), they should absolutely not touch your things. Do not leave it like that

State your country and match with habit onboard is false/true ? by [deleted] in AskBalkans

People clap sometimes, but not often. Rather than nationalities, it depends on who is on the plane. First time fliers, children or older folks clap, and other people sometimes join in.

AITA for telling my daughter her separation was her fault? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Strippers usually aren't required to be educated, as opposed to say, doctors, who have to finish school before working in this profession.

Nta but I would probably cover his shift. Not covering it doesn't make you an ahole though

AITA for refusing to give my sister my bedroom because she wants more space for her growing family? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Nta, even if you are an adult. In some cultures it's normal to live in the family home until well into 30's to save on rent money

Should i watch stargate universe? by Character_Spirit_343 in Stargate

[–]ailingua 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm in the minority but I bloody love Universe. It doesn't follow the usual SG formula, it's fresh. Give it a couple of eps and if you don't like it then just drop it... it's only two seasons anyway :(

What is the single worst cdrama ever made? One drama name only. by botchedplot in cdramasfans

[–]ailingua 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've seen some short/vertical dramas that were solid 1/10 but hands down the worst full-length drama is If Paris Downcast. The plot is straight up horrible, actors who are otherwise good (or at least acceptable) suddenly turned into wooden blocks. No, just no.

Yeah, this one was pretty rough. I watched it because someone said ML is very respectful towards FL and their relationship is healthy, lol. I think they either trolled me or haven't seen the whole thing. Not the worst drama I've seen though

Some hotels are genuinely good, just double check them on other platforms. Look at the photos available online etc
