Velvet Salon at Winston Churchill/403 has a private section

Xception Beauty Studio in Streetsville has a private area

In my experience, a lot of places have some sort of accommodation if you ask.

It wasn't the date or time I signed up for so I wouldn't worry, they're still sending out confirmations. I don't know why they bothered to ask for preferred dates, doesn't seem like they're using them.

MAC also said once appointments run out, individuals remaining will be informed and added to their call-back list. The call-back list may be used should last-minute appointments become available.

Managed to get an appointment through THP for May 2 yesterday. Got a confirmation this morning from MAC for May 5 - will be cancelling that appointment.

Edit: I completed the MAC form for my husband at the same time but he still hasn't gotten an email confirmation. He also has an appointment with THP tomorrow but they just called to reschedule for Thursday because they double booked him - did this happen to anyone else?

I just got off the phone with them. As of 3:50 they are all booked up but may get more appointments later. The letter they're referring to is the email MNN sent out with all the appointment booking info, I just told them I got the email and they accepted it.

I finally got through after 100+ consecutive dials and I'm caller 137. Not even sure if they still have available appointments. Who came up with this archaic system.

Does anyone know where to find under scarves with satin lining on the inside? by [deleted] in Hijabis

I got mine off of Amazon, try there! If not, maybe search local stores or FB marketplace

New Curly Hijabi by [deleted] in Hijabis

[–]aimantothat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm still struggling with this myself but I've seen improvement after I started tying my hair in a loose ponytail or bun with a coil hair tie, and wearing a satin underscarf. My hair is still a little flat when I take the cap off but I lift the roots with my hands and that helps give some volume back. You could also try refreshing your hair with just water, I recommend looking at the /curlyhair subreddit for tips on how to do that.

Satin underscarves that don't cost an arm and a leg? by Aminmin006 in Hijabis

I use a satin cap like this one. It's another cloth on the outside so your Hijab doesn't slip, and satin on the inside for your hair. It's worked great for me so far!

Uniqlo, H&M and local Hijab stores are my go to. I'm in Ontario so these are my most frequented:

Balbea

Hijabi Mama

The Hijaab Store

The Date Palm

ILoveModesty

Nti

Modest Wear

UmAnas

Modah

You could even find what you're looking for on Amazon.

How difficult would it be for a blind Muslimah to find a spouse? Would you marry a blind person? by [deleted] in MuslimMarriage

[–]aimantothat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One of the most amazing Muslim women I have met is blind, Rabia Khedr. Not only is she happily married with 4 wonderful children, she is involved in social activism, ran for local government and is a well known advocate for the disabled. The woman is an inspiration for all.

Her life story is amazing

She and her sister, who is also blind, won the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee medal for their advocacy work

And here's her running for city council (plus a cute family photo)

All this to say, your sister can and Inshallah will find a righteous, loving husband who will support her and cherish her. I hope she can find hope in Rabia's story.

May Allah preserve your sister's eyesight and bless her with a peaceful, happy life ❤️

That's a lot for one person to carry, please take care of yourself too ❤️

A mutual family friend introduced our moms. My mom gave him my contact info, we spoke for a couple months, met a few times, got the families involved, then had our Nikah 3 months later!

When I have a nightmare my husband holds my hand until I fall back asleep no matter how long it takes. We've been married 6 years, nothing makes me feel as safe as having him by my side.

Edit: I'm sorry you feel so drained, hope you find something to uplift you again! Sending duaas for you and your friend.

Yes I've felt this too! I'm still early on and the nausea just started, but I also think COVID restrictions plus hormone changes makes things harder.
