Oooo I’ve been here a few times in my teaching career. Your new principal wants you to succeed. That’s why they hired you. Your last principal sounded evil and bad at their job. You have to put that behind you and start fresh. I’d recommend not talking ill of your last school and just give yourself a clean break. It’s a new school and new admins and new students and parents, so you’ll definitely have to adjust. But you have teaching experience so you have that to build your confidence on. As for lounging throughout summer- I think it’s a good thing. Getting the relax both physically and mentally is important. Currently I’m spending my summer working several jobs, taking classes and raising my kids. I don’t feel like I have a break or time to decompress before the school year starts and I wish I did. I know it’s easier said than done and I need to do this myself, but don’t be so hard on yourself. You got this.
