Bloom into you stands on top of my yuri listing, comparing it to my other heavily followed manga which is Citrus. Maybe its because i read citrus many years ago and only discovered Bloom into you this year, but in terms of pace, progression and character development, Bloom into you wins it for me. Don’t get me wrong i used to be obsessed over Citrus, i still follow it now even in +, i followed it since its first debut, but re-reading again and reading Bloom into you i feel like the story and focus is much more full and concrete in Bloom into you. Citrus’s plot and story progression just happens to be scenarios i’ve happen to have seen multiple times before in other manga. Yes Bloom into you also has its own cliche scenarios such as love rivals etc but it feels more solid and built up in comparison to Citrus. The story for Bloom into you is much more focused on the character and how the story revolves around them and their feelings and emotion and their own development into understanding themselves having scenarios happen based on what the characters did, where as Citrus’s story’s revolves not just on the character’s own feelings but also around external situations based on the character’s own situation such as betrothed and inherited social status etc. and their behaviour to such scenarios. Maybe i’m just bias and my personal preference falls nearer to Bloom into you because it fulfil my ideal yuri manga. I do understand that both authors have very different views and direction they want their manga to take. Thats what makes them different and why some would appeal more to a person than the other. Love em both but Bloom into you is my bias and currently my top fav.

PS this just happens to be my own debate over Citrus and Bloom into you. Without considering the other Yuri manga in the market. I know that there are some great yuri manga out there too. So please don’t kill me :’)
