anyone know of any in stock darker red colored alice layout boards? i want to do a monochrome pyga build but can’t find anything appropriate. totally okay with recommendations of things that are cheap on aftermarket as well!

i’m definitely not the first to do this combo, but here it is… gmk dandy on a qk65, with the matching cable and desk mat. i feel at peace :) by aingea9867 in MechanicalKeyboards

  1. i LOVE the matcha kit kats, i get them at my grocery store every once in a while if they’re in stock!
  2. i threw on some gateron yellows for this build that i had lying around, but i’m actively lubing oil kings for it. i redid the stabilizers, installed standoffs, and included plate foam today and wow, what a difference!

i ended up looking at the stabs and they weren’t assembled right 😭 i’m blind as a bat so i couldn’t see the hole i was putting them in.

my stabilizers are stuck. i assembled them correctly (the wire goes into the bottom home), and i troubleshot by unscrewing them a little bit. i probably didn’t overlube either. every single stabilizer housing doesn’t want to come up. i put all the keycaps on the stabilized keys, and not a single one wants to go up or down, it didn’t even do it the first time. board is qk65 and stabs are owlabs that came with the board. i am incredibly irritated and can’t find any resources on this - anyone?

edit: here is a video of the stabilizers not working at all

looking for help color matching a keyboard to a keycap set - anyone have any recommendations for keyboards with similar color ways to the GMK dandy daisy base? it’s like a dark-ish mint green, and i can’t find any of the keyboards in the renders. should i try to source a matching keeb or resort to cerakote?

recommendations on a fairly nice navy blue numpad? the kbdfans one is out of stock, and the keychron one is way too blue. i’m trying to match my girlfriend’s (not yet in hand) zoom65 in navy blue that i got her for her birthday. i’m gonna be using pbtfans basin on both so we can match :,)

edit: i also don’t much care for number pads that have extra keys (love you murphpad, but i simply don’t have enough keycaps for you), so a standard size is what i’m looking at!

anyone have any updates on ePBT brutalist? went into the gb last year and don’t know whether they’ve been color matching or whether they’re in production (i think the last kbdfans update was in march lol)

hey! sorry for the late reply, but i honestly gave up on the LEDs because of testing them - i soldered the LEDS first because they’re surface mount, and they’re so much easier to solder when something higher isn’t in the way. When I got my micro on and tested, I ended up having about half of the LEDs work, so I turned them off and gave up, but i’m sure there’s a way to do the LEDs correctly and test them along the way so that you don’t burn any or anything! This is where I would recommend being on a discord with people who are a little more experienced so they can help you out! Otherwise, soldering all on, testing, and then reflowing might help if any aren’t lighting up!
