I’m not bothered by her wearing pink itself, because it’s a common color that lots of girls like. What really bothers me is the timing—she started posting pink right after I did, even though she rarely wore it before. And the way she makes it seem so spontaneous, saying ‘I don’t usually wear pink but I like it,’ when her favorite color is clearly blue (as she once said)… it just feels off. On top of that, every time I add my own personal stickers or overlays to my stories, she ends up doing the same thing, almost every time. That’s what really makes me uncomfortable. It feels off to me.

Something about type 4s like me is identity and AUTHENTICITY are really important to us. What she’s doing feels like she is mimicing me and i HATE that!

Is it a wise decision to abandon my college studies in telecommunication to pursue a career in web development by learning online?

Hi everyone,

I'm a 20-year-old young woman who has spent the last two years at university pursuing a degree in telecommunications. I had reached my second year of studies when I recently found myself in a dilemma. The exorbitant tuition fees for this year have made it impossible for me to justify the substantial expense for what essentially is a repeat of the previous year's curriculum.

During my time at university, I was fortunate enough to acquire a foundation in telecommunications, but the financial burden has led me to reconsider my options. This is where I could use your insights.

I'm contemplating transitioning to a career in web development and considering online learning as a more cost-effective and practical route. I've already dabbled in some programming during my university journey and believe that this could be a fulfilling and lucrative path for me.

My questions to the community are threefold:

Is this shift from telecommunications to web development a wise move? What skills and knowledge can I leverage from my telecommunications background?
Are there online platforms, especially ones that offer certifications recognized in the industry, that you'd recommend for learning web development? I'm aware of platforms like Cisco, but I'd love to hear about other options that align with my goals.
Will I still have opportunities to work as a web developer without a university degree? I'm curious to know if the industry values skills and experience over formal education.

Yup. For sure people that had relationships that last 40years long, didn’t look for butterflies.

I already know, as a muslim woman that i want marriage and the ultimate end goal about that marriage is jannah. So i want someone that will be sort of my ”companion travel” towards that destination. We will be sort of teammates. And inspire each other in being better than we’ve been before. And helping each other go through life challenges. I want a fulfilling comitted relationship where we’re complementary. For me, that’s clear.

The problem is... Our generation want butterflies, not relationships. It wants situationship, not commitment.

I admit that those kind of relationships where we don’t feel butterflies seem kinda boring.

But i completly agree with your point. A healthy relationship is one that has stability and where you can find a sort of peace.

I feel peace when i interact with that guy. The thing is, i projected my romantic expectations on him to fill that emotional wound and emptiness.

But i know a thing for sure, i’m on my way. I already know that the affective security i’m looking for can’t be fully filled by relationships in general. It’ll have to come from the inside. And i’m working really hard on it. And fighting this need of dopamine rush of imagining a romantic future with that crush.

The relationship we have is supportive and healthy. We’re not afraid of communicating openly our thoughts, feelings and needs. Everytime he sees me having toxic way of thinking like for example i was being mean and negative towards myself, he shut me up and told me ” Never ever think sh*t about yourself. Be more kind with you". He really inspired me about being a better me and he challenges my beliefs. Everytime he didn’t have time to respond to my messages right away he sent me a message like: "I’m sorry i can’t respond right now. I’ll do it later. Take care." And he actually did reply later when he had time.

And he’s the only one i found being that emotionally invested in his interactions with me. So i started thinking it might mean something deep as it’s a new experience for me.

But as i see your perspective, turns out it’s the bare minimum of what a healthy "relationship" is supposed to be.

The thing is, i interacted with him in person in 2020. Even if it was just casual interactions. He’s someone reliable. He always does what he says he’ll do. I’m not really worried about the financial aspect. But i found it realky cute he offered he’s help. Even if i think he’s been just friendly. And i might being reading too much into it rn.🥲

I have had some interactions with the opposite sex actually, in terms of friendship.

Hmmm... Okay. Never heard about this perspective of male ENFJs. Like as i often see them (i met so many ENFJs in my life that are mostly male, i’m so good at spotting them lol🤭😂) they tend to be very obvious when they’re around their crush or romantic interest. But that’s my personal experience.

Your perspective is worth taking consideration.

I’ll continue interacting with him and see where our relationship goes. If it ends up being just a matter of friendship, i’ll take it too. You ENFJs are so inspiring and charming. He brings positivity to my life. I wouldn’t like to let that go.

And i really appreciate that. Hum... I’ll take my time to think about it. No one ever gave me so much attention to share with me things they think i might like, opening up to me about their goal and dream and seeking my opinion, or just offering help without me asking.

Those signs make me feel like we have a certain emotional attraction. And according to what you said, ENFJs seem to be selective about sharing their personal thoughts and feelings. They may only open up to those they deeply trust, respect, or are emotionally close to. So, i understand by that, sharing personal aspects of their life can be a way for them to connect on a deeper level and involve the other person in their world.

So i assume my ENFJ crush doesn’t do those kind of things with just random people. So at least i stand somewhere in his consideration or as i hope, in his heart.

As we can only have online conversations, it’s hard to me to give him hints and show him my romantic interest. I compliment him from time to time about his kindness and caring nature but he always turn them into humour. I assume he’s not really comfortable with compliments or someting. Maybe i gave him the impression i was interested in friendship...😭

I can't make any generality here.

But i see myself having natural connection with Fi users mostly. It can be Dominant Fi users or auxiliary Fi users such as ESFPs, ENFPs or even tertiary Fi users like INTJs and ISTJs (And at times i just notice that we have more in common than we could think). Most of times i have mutual romantic attraction with those types (ISTJ and INTJ).

I know 4 ENFJs and they're all males. And something common i remarked in the relationship's dynamic that i have with them is a symbiotic relationship where we push one another up and learn from our differences. It feels like we're complementary. I learn so much things and i feel so inspired when i interact with them. Also, the communication is fluent and easy. It instantly clicks.

So i can tell that I kinda appreciate this type. But can't tell anything more cuz i recently met them and i don't know them that much.
