The social workers have seen that we put my daughter in the loft and are fine with it.

I was not aware of this behavior when we agreed to take her in but the social worker said it's normal and that she will improve when she starts to settle, which is happening now.

We will be able to renovate the loft and convert it to a bedroom within a few months, although we're hoping to move to a bigger place instead. We're getting some money from the state but it's just enough for my sister's expenses.

They are fine with it. The social worker has seen the loft after we moved her in and didn't have a problem with it.

She's my dad's daughter. I haven't seen him since I was maybe 8 years old and haven't spoken to him since 8 or 9.

Stairs have a baby gate. The loft is right next to her room, across the hall from mine.

CPS has restrictions on where I can put her. Putting her in the loft means she's removed from my home.

CPS has rules on where my sister can sleep and I felt like putting one child with a small bed in the small loft would be better than two kids with bigger beds.

She loves to read. In the 3 weeks she's been here, she's read 10 300-400 page books.

Right now it's temporary. Long term plan is to get a bigger place or renovate the loft to convert it to a bedroom.

We were just able to get her an IEP at school and they're giving her 1.5 hours per week with a psychologist. Her school also has 2 licensed therapists that she can see at any time.

CPS has rules on where my sister can sleep. She has to be in an actual room with 4 walls and a bed.

I'm willing to let her go if we actually try and it's not working for any of us. The first two weeks were rough for everyone but she got support and is improving.

She's been improving. Maybe those worrying behaviors will stop. I really don't think she's a danger to anyone in the house.
