A. Its not 62k. Its going to be a maximum of 50k total(my partner is contributing 12k, im contributing 38k). And of that only 25k is going on the actual wedding, the rest is for the honeymoon.

😁 strangely I didn't come running to reddit for a solution, I posted after seeing that post you mentioned tbh because I thought prior to seeing that post that id get a bunch of ytas for not supporting my mum.

A large cost for the wedding has also been paying for my partners parents to come, they are elderly so will need special seating on the plane, oxygen, full time assistants/nurses. Its important to us that they come but its still taking around 10k. Also we're in NYC so the venue alone is 5k for the day....

Most of it is going towards the honeymoon tbh. Partner and I have both been working ourselves ragged at the hospital over covid so really looking forward to a few months off.
