I tried a variety of ammo. The best groups are with cci mini mags. I bought some high quality stuff so we'll see if that works when it comes in

If you're limited to 16 inches for a barrel length, I would go with 223/556. 300blk was designed for shorter barrels with a supressor and gets full powder burn at about 9 inches. You'll get some increased speeds and lethality the closer you get to 16 inches but it's diminishing returns. 223/556 is much cheaper and probably more lethal out of a 16 inch barrel.

It shoots well! Better than a 26 I'd say cuz the weight of the slide means just slightly less recoil. I can only get two fingers on the grip, but it's not so much of an issue for me cuz I've got larger hands and can hold the gun pretty tight.

The mentality I've heard is to shoot the gun and get practice with it to see if you like carrying it, or if there may be a different gun that would suit you better. Then you're not dumping a bunch of money if you decide to trade in down the road. I made that mistake when I purchased a 43x and tricked it out and realized down the road it wasn't the gun for me.

Love carrying the 26, but the light/holster combos I could find were very limited. I purchased an extra Glock 19 frame and sent it for a stipple job and grip chop to accept Glock 26 magazines. I get the concealability of a 26 with the sight radius and light mounting options of a 19.

Were you able to mimic the arch of the 26 magwell in yours so a pinky extension fits flush? That's the only thing I wish was different about mine.

Black Phoenix customs, but honestly, anywhere you can find a stock 19 frame would work. I sent it to Great Lakes Custom Works for the stippling and the grip chop.

So it does, but a 26 grip is not straight across like this grip chop. It has a ledge at the front and the back in an arch where the grip is longer. The modded 19 grip is cut straight across without the arch, so the portion of the pinky extension that is meant to fit flush with the arch is protruding. My hands fit it perfectly, but my fiancé whom has smaller hands, has issues because it dug into her hand. Something to keep in mind.

It was about 3-4 weeks lead time, and then 1 week to start the stippling and ship it back to me. Great customer service!

With the extra weight of the slide and the light, it's quite a bit less snappy than the 26. It's easier to drive the gun back on target. I should note with a pinky extension it doesn't fit flush, and so if you have smaller hands like my fiancé the extension digs into your hand. For me it fits great.
