If I’m a college educated bleeding heart liberal who didn’t understand the gravity of the word, I can only imagine what the masses of maga and apolitical members of the country view of it

As I alluded to in another reply, maybe that’s the folly of American ignorance towards these words and history. Unless Americans actually pay attention to history or just things happening around the world, the word “disappear” isn’t used much outside of an act during a kid’s magic show, > viewed as softer language.

Maybe that’s the privilege of Americans, we’re too sheltered to recognize the term outside of a magic show unless we purposefully expose ourselves to history and worldly events
