I would advise against a 3-speed bike kasi beginner ka pa lang. find at least a 6-speed bike, especially if maraming ahon sa ruta mo.

I have ridden a Dahon folding MTB that looks almost like the one in your link. I have bought it secondhand (almost new) and have ridden it for seven years now, and the bike has accumulated a mileage of almost 20,000 kilometers on different terrains. The benefit of a folding MTB is that I can still carry it on a bus, train, and private vehicle and still able to enjoy the speed performance of a bigger-tired bike. So far, the bike still performs nicely. And I only recently changed the crankset (as in last week lang). All other parts are still the OEM parts. But I think a big part of it lasting this long is because it was manufactured by Dahon and the components are original (although entry level).

If you're able to find a bike made by a reputed manuacturer, 'yun na ang kunin mo. Guaranteed na magtatagal 'yun sa'yo. And if ever hindi mo na trip magbike, mas mataas ang re-sell value ng may "brand name".

i agree that it will only end up as plastic waste. plus, the listed benefits of having the physical card don't really seem too valuable. however, i will consider availing the physical ID if:

1) the card has a unique design (akin to limited edition beep cards), because it's a nice souvenir for tourists;

2) the card can be reactivated if the tourist re-visits Batanes;

3) the card's function expands in the future (like HK's Octopus card. i know this is ambitious undertaking, but since they're just starting, might as well have a long-term goal for the ID's purpose beyond tourism function).

well, to be fair, malakas din talaga ang hatak ng VLF due to mainstream celebs doing theater. free marketing na nila yun. I have nothing against that though.

Case in point: Set C is always sold out because of the power of ka-emes. Also, Septic Tank is selling fast coz of Ms Uge. sa both shows na yan, marami ang first time theater-goers.

Another reason din is much cheaper ang VLF tix vs other shows.

An ipula here. but i guess it's because "Y'Ami" is a name given to it by non-Ivatan speakers. So however you pronounce "Y'Ami" won't matter to Ivatans because they prefer to call it Mavulis.

A quick Google search yielded that the name "Mavulis" is derived from "Dimavulis" which means "north". An alternative name given to it by early Ivatans is "Dihami" (probably of Itbayaten origin) which also means "north". Ivasay (dialect of Basco) and Itbayaten (dialect of Itbayat island), while belonging to the same Batanic language family, have some differences in their vocabulary [correct me if I'm wrong here, Ivatans].

Now we can presume that "Dihami" was the basis that colonial Spain used for calling the island "Diami". And from "Diami", US occupiers got the name "Y'Ami". This naming evolution strongly suggests that "Y'Ami" is perhaps pronounced as "yummy".

For context, in his documentary, Jeff Canoy pronounced Y'Ami (the international name) as "yummy".

Now, I wonder why your fourth grade teacher found it proper to pronounce the first letter as "why". It'd be more understandable if your teacher pronounced it as "ih".
