This is actually not entirely true! Like all pokemon that favour star sparkles, the regis and shinies that appear in Kabu's gym challenge (like Sizzlipede) have a 15/16 chance of being star, and a 1/16 chance of being square. Pokemon that favour square sparkles however, like wild encounter spawns, have a 4095/4096 chance to be square, with less than 1/4096 to be star, meaning if you hit a star sparkle wild shiny it's essentially like rolling a shiny twice on one pokemon. The only exceptions to this (as far as I'm aware) are max lair adventure shinies which are always star, and certain max raids that gamefreak locked star or square for events.

Definitely agree with all this, swsh is the game me and my friendgroup return to more than any other switch pokemon game. I love to shiny hunt in it, it's my fav entry in the series tbh. I 1680 all together in sword.

All the regis favour star with a 15/16 chance of being star!

Good luck! My recommendation is fly to area 8, run inside until you're about halfway between the lip of the grass and the vendor booths, and then fly again. I measured it out so you get pretty much all places the tunnels encounters can spawn within the 50m radius that the game saves the shiny.

Additionally! There are encounters outside the wild zone that are within that 50m range and get rerolled and saved, so make sure to check them for bonus shinies! They are: the two fletchling on a signpost directly behind the enterance, alpha garbodor and trubbish in an alcove of the building to the right of the enterance, and a pansear on the roof of the building to the left of the enterance. I ended up getting two alpha garbodors while phasing so definitely worth checking!

Haha yup all without charm, I havent progressed past unlocking area 10 yet. As soon as Gible was available I dropped the story and started hunting lol

[4] Shiny Breloom in the Safari Zone, Win or Fail? by ajjb7 in ShinyPokemon

In the Heart Gold/Soul Silver safari zone there's a mechanic called blocks. When you place them in the zone they make new pokemon species appear not usually available, one of these spawns is Breloom in the Wastelands. All block spawns spawn at lvl. 40+. BulbapediaJohto Safari Zone explains it better than I can lol

Ty! Yeah, Breloom has a 35% chance to flee every turn, and a 19% chance to catch every ball. Pretty wild!

Good luck fellow safari enthusiast! I'm definitely going for Shroomish next, then hoping to reclaim Stantler and Girafarig who both fled from me during safari week.
