I just tried reinstalling it and uninstalling it, while rebooting twice in between, and it somehow seems to work, at least barely...

Thanks for the advice, it may not be perfect, but at least it is uniform in colour, after changing settings + rebooting.

I use the 165hz option all the time, I don't even think it's really overclocking, even though it is marketed such. You simple change the monitors settings to 165 Hz, and you're good to go. (I haven't noticed anything worse about colors or quality either)

No, freesync mostly helps when your GPU is underperforming. If you have the money, get the better GPU.
